Can someone let me know if there is a gasket where the bypass valve joins the exhaust and Y pipe on the 355 2.7.

If it is what type is it? Rubber??

Also if you leak air from this joint what can go wrong?

    Thanks for any help.

1 gasket either side of the bypass valve. They are like large 'O' rings and appear to be made of copper. I've just replaced my bypass valve with a Capristo unit and have re-used the 'O' rings succesfully. I thought they would be impossible to remove from the old unit but with patience and a small screwdriver they came out. Just try light leverage moving around the ring as if you were taking a paint lid off and they will ping out. Although they didn't look perfect they seem to work fine. The Capristo unit seems to be better made and I am rattle free for the first time in 3 years!
