Can someone let me know if there is a gasket where the bypass valve joins the exhaust and Y pipe on the 355 2.7. If it is what type is it? Rubber?? Also if you leak air from this joint what can go wrong? Thanks for any help.
Looks like it to me... Part #11. Daniel can hook you up: http://www.ricambiamerica.com/images/diagrams/full/F35527_17.jpg
1 gasket either side of the bypass valve. They are like large 'O' rings and appear to be made of copper. I've just replaced my bypass valve with a Capristo unit and have re-used the 'O' rings succesfully. I thought they would be impossible to remove from the old unit but with patience and a small screwdriver they came out. Just try light leverage moving around the ring as if you were taking a paint lid off and they will ping out. Although they didn't look perfect they seem to work fine. The Capristo unit seems to be better made and I am rattle free for the first time in 3 years! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
