Hi, i got a question about the wiring of the 348. In the schematics i can't find the connector i'm looking for. It is the yellow one near to the suspenson on the driver side. It should contain the cables for the alternator, starter motor, ac magnetic clutch, oiltemp. sensor, oilpressure sensor, speed sensor, .... but wich cable is for what?? The cables i realy need are alternator, starter motor, oiltemp, oilpressure, oilpressure switch, and the speed sensor. Does anyone have a schematic for that connector or any infos that would help me alot.
Samy- On your schematic, each wire is color coded. Skin back the boot from the connector and you can tell which wire goes to which terminal. G'luck.
I believe you are referring to connector 115, and your 1994 model 348 should use wiring diagrams 1b, 5b, and 8b for this connector. If I read the diagrams correctly, you should have either 10 or 11 wires in the connector. White: starter signal wires (there may be two of these, but they join together past the connector). Yellow/green: to alternator Red: to alternator Green/white: to speedo sensor Red/white: to speedo sensor Grey/white: to sender for water temperature light Grey: to sender for water temperature gauge Grey/black: to sender for oil pressure gauge Grey/yellow: to sender for oil pressure light Green/black: to A/C compressor clutch The wire for the oil temperature sender (on the oil sump tank) doesn't run through connector 115. The pin numbers are shown on the diagrams, but I wouldn't trust them.
@plugzit: The problem was that i only had found the alternator, starter and magnetic clutch on my repair book. I can't find the other stuff maybe its missing on my repairbook. @Miltonian: Thanks ! Yes its 10 pin and exaktly what i was looking for. That saved me a lot of time these are the last cables to connect so i hope it will run befor 2009 now I hope Ferrari used the same colors on mine But where is the cable for the starter motor? Shouldn't it be on that connector 115 also? And why are there two cables for the alternator i thought there should be only a small one. The big 12v cable direct to the battery/12v block and thats it?
I got nearly all found and wired up but two wires are left a yellow one. And the red one wich you said it should be conntected to the alternator? Maybe red is only battery 12V so i connect it to battery 12v on the alternator or easier on the 12v block? But what is the yellow one? Ingition 12V?
Samy; I'm here, I'll take a look in my diagrams shortly. Just to be sure, does your car have the battery in front?
OK, I just rechecked the diagrams, and I don't see any solid yellow wires that run through connector #115. Have you identified the wire that I noted as yellow with a green stripe? If you don't see that one, then perhaps they ran out of bi-colored wire and just used plain yellow, or perhaps the green stripe is very faint. The yellow/green wire is supposed to run to the alternator on one end, and on the other end it runs up through the fuse panel, to the dash, to the alternator warning light.
Yes i found the yellow green wire and connected it already with the alternator. The yellow one is a big solid yellow wire. i would say ~2,0mm² the biggest wire on that connector 115. And where do i connect the solid red wire?
I'm afraid I can't identify the solid yellow wire at this point, it doesn't seem to show up on the wiring diagrams, at least not running through #115. Are you sure it's an original Ferrari wire? The solid red wire, on the engine side, runs directly to the alternator plug-in terminal. On the chassis side, it runs to a #85 connector, which is described as "connector for positive to starter motor". I'm not sure what that is or where it is, since my 348 has the battery in the back. It's obviously a direct 12V power supply from the battery. I'm sorry I can't be more specific, I'm just going by the diagrams. What happened to your wiring?
Thanks Yes there is a 12v connector in the back on the 348's with the battery in front. So the red wire is just 12V battery voltage. I think yellow could be ignition switched 12V i will check this. Its a genuine cable car was untouched Maybe thats why i got no backgroundlight on my dash that it gets it from that wire. You helped me alot thanks. I made a engine swap and didn't have the wiring wich is normaly connected to the connector 115.
As I've said before, you are a real asset to FChat, Jeff. Great post and really nice of you to take the time to "run" the wiring schematics. You've gotta love the people here on FChat!
