Been a bit quiet w.r.t 365's lately. Here's mine, #17977, you may have seen some before in other threads. Can't wait for next season to take some new pics and have some new adventures - I've only had two weeks of fun with her so far! Many thanks to the photographers, where they were not me. Thanks Rosso.corsa and PAP! But, as I mentioned, I've only used her for 2 weeks. She was restored in 2007 and 2008 by Fosker's and had not run more than 1,500 miles since 1990. Consequently, when I took her to the continent (Holland, Germany, Belgium and France) on her first trip she left me stranded 5 times. She burnt out 3 alternators in that period... I was expecting this, though, and consider it part of the waking up process. Over the last two months all the wiring has been stripped, brake discs shimmied, a new clutch fitted and another couple of things. I haven't seen her since October 2nd, but am told by Jeff Fosker that all is now well. I will try and drive her in two weeks time but the weather in Britain is very likely to prevent me from doing that. I might have to wait until April before I can take her out for a good spin (I don't work in Europe, and that's my next leave period) ... it's going to be a very long winter! Onno
Radnor, that's an impressive garage, mate. Very nice. Dave, I can see you had fun that last drive. Can I ask why you have the BBi grille on your 365? It's funny - but I still can't decide which I like better: the covered fog lights or the shorter grille. They both have a very nice look I think. Onno
This question has come up many times since I purchased the car in 1984...and was researched extensively when the restoration work was done. Actually, a long time back, I posted some information on this subject. The grill is not from a BBi, but rather an "alternative" grill for the 365bb, per the Parts Manual, depending on the destination market for the car. Due to the foward-most placement of the welded on brackets for the driving/fog lights, a longer grill (covering the lights) just wouldn't be possible. David
Yes, I plan to rectify that! If all is well with her she'll drive back to her birthplace in May 2009! Very interesting, David. What was the original market for your car? I've only seen pics of two 365's with this grille - here's one spotted in Germany (not by me, photo from Autogespot.com). Onno Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The differences in grilles (and the turn signal cover colors also) were based on the fact of which countries they were shipped to. Different countries, different rules. w/ smiles Jimmy
