One other thing for all the cars, we have to get on the toll roads to get from point A to B. If you do not have a toll tag you will need to have 1- $.50 toll, 2-$.40 toll and 1- $1.00 toll. I suggest exact change as that will make the extraction of money less painless and quicker.
Pls count me in. Don - Fortunately and unfortunately , I have a variety of chargers (trickle, jumpers, car battery powered, rechargeable)available for your disposal if you would like to come by the house and take one with you.
It's Kim!! I'll be there with bells on and maybe my santa hat. :O) Let me know if there is anything I can do to help out.
I made a run out to Mattel this morning & stocked up, lots of Speed Racer & Batman stuff on sale, lines were nuts though.
I will be attending as well. Since the raffle idea gathered no responses except from Jim and Don/Carolyn, I willopen the table for suggestions. I would like to keep the value of the item in the 50 - 75 dollar range. I think a raffle would do more good because it will gather a larger donation for charity. All proceeds will be donated in F-Chats name to Toys for Tots, or Make a Wish Foundation. I will let Carolyn handle that decision.
I posted the details on the local Lotus yahoogroups board. My experience with the Lotus club is that they usually don't RSVP and you don't know they are showing up until you hear the buzz of Loti approaching the morning of. We had a nice turnout of the group last year and expect the same this year. I will also post on the local Porsche yahoogroups board. The more toys, the merrier the kids.
I am meeting with the Fire Chief tomorrow to discuss "special needs" If there are no specific ones then everyone can use their own discretion. He told me that they have about 20 familys in need so this is where the donation will go. i will make a post about special needs by Friday. Thanks to all of you. Hans Hoffmann e-mailed me yesterday and said that they had about 10 from their group, so far and they are not included in my list. So we are getting close to the half way mark of 50 cars with 10 days to go. REMEMBER folks I need an accurate count because we still have to print out the maps. Last year we had so many show up that I ran out of maps.
Frances, I appreciate your offer! The battery that was in the M apparently gave it's life to start the car in the garage and just pooped out in the parking lot. Not bad for an 8 year old battery. I have since found out even with a bad cell the maintainers will still go to float mode. But the situation would not have occured if the seller of the car had done what she said she was going to do--silly me.
I'll be there with my little 4-banger. Too much fun last year! Bob also sent an email blast out to the ICCSw membership last night, so hopefully we'll be able to add to your attendance! See you at RUF...Chas
Maps? I thought you needed the headcount for the donuts. I've gotten a couple of responses from the Porsche board also. May or may not be the same one's as Hans has.
Posted at NSXprime as well. Boxer let me down during its last drive. Superior Honda engineering (NSX) may have to save the day. Count me in one way or another.
