    Great idea.

There was also a member who was here but more known on 6speed. Luis? GT3 something. Feel bad that I cannot remember :( He had a black suped up 911 and was a great guy. Unfortunatly I only heard about this great person after he passed away in a horrible accident while enjoying his 911. There were so many great write ups about this wonderful enthusiast who used to organize events and all kinds of great things.

Please include the late, great Brad Abbot, nicknamed by his team manager and mechanic in the '70s as 'Bad Habit'. His username is EFWUN. He is sorely missed.

I think that would be a good setup when the in memory idea is put together. I also think that this should not be put in a subscribed area, that way family members can see it as mentioned above.

Sadly another person that would have to be put on that list of usernames is Tom Dance/scylla6

    +1

Not sure about the card. (logistics) but I agree that friends & families who may google their loved one can find some respectful tributes and mention of the person they loved right here on F chat!

Would it be possible to modify the members Avatar with a watermark or something that says In Memoriam or Not forgotton?

That way people searching through old posts would know these people are gone.

Any more thoughts on this? I thought it would be nice to have an additional section with little plaques (something in the shape of the one below) containing their name, username, DOB and DOD. And possibly clickable to their profile? Or maybe putting the little plaques at the top of the homepage, something like "retiring a jersey". Threads will die and stickies tend to clutter up the top of the page, so I thought something like this might be interesting.

At minimum we'll do a memorial sub-forum with thread for each user.

    Great idea.
FChatters "Gone West" as we say in the pilot biz...
I think only a mod or Rob alone should post in a closed thread, with NO commentary posts. Simple, quiet and honorable. If someone wants to start a thread about the person, there are appropriate venues.

I don't know. I like the sentiment but I don't like this idea. You are talking about a cemetery sub-forum.

I like that I can search and live on with them through their posts.
