Mine are in stock - deals for FChatters....
Only the #4 car has been released so far, but to be honest the differences in the various ones they will make are quite trivial. It's really lovely and I have blown through quite a few of these in the last week....1400 pieces for around $300!
You lucky son of a gun!! It will take a while for the 156 to hit the shelves in this country.(NL) We were happy with our importer, but for some unknown reason CMC HQ decided to serve the BENELUX via their French importer. Took ages for my Maserati 250F to arrive. Seems that we're only getting leftovers!
I noticed that the #2 car has the engine exposed where the #4 and other version have it closed off (Covered). I like that it shows off the engine in the #2 car. The fact that it is the winner of the Italian GP which gave the Champioship to Phil Hill is another and the fact that, that race was where Von Trips crashed is another. A very, very dramatic race and that car signifies it all for me
I haven't received my CMC 156 Ferrari yet but so far what I've noticed on both the CMC and the future Exoto 156's the cut of the windshields is wrong. I compared images of the CMC & Exoto pictures to the original photos of the 156 and in the real 156 photos the sides of the glass has a low cut which in both images of the CMC & Exoto's cars, the side of the glass as a high cut. It's no big deal to me as both models are extremely will designed. Just my 2 cents!
I just got an email from the CMC guy I buy from, my 156 is coming... Also in the email he said that CMC's license deal with Ferrari was to only produce one car per calendar year - hence the January release of the 250 TR. I thought that was interesting, certainly the first time I'd heard it... Anyone else hear that?
all I had heard was CMC claimed a goal of two Ferraris per year. I don't know what their agreement with Ferrari is, but if it is a car a year it seems kind of harsh. On the other side, it is better for us, as I personally can't afford something like 2 BBRs 2CMCs 3Kyoshos and a couple of Exotos every year on top of bunch of Elites from Mattel.
Agreed... not to mention the added cost of GMP getting in the game. It's awesome that there are so many people making excellent models, but it's costing a small fortune to keep up. My wife actually said to me the other day, "Maybe you have enough now..." It's funny, I remember not too long ago when HW was putting out trash (pre-elite) and no one else was making anything and we were all bemoaning the lack of quality models - now look at us... LOL. I guess the old addage really is true: Be careful what you wish for, you just might get it
It is amazing how over just the past few years the 1:18 market has gone from poop to prima. I am hoping that BBR does some more Ferrari classics. And for you Ferrari purist collectors, the CMC Porsche 901 is mind-bending outstanding.
Got my CMC Shark yesterday and is outrageous.I'm still discovering new small details every time I look at it.I placed it next to my EXOTO Revival 1/20 scale and the differences are many with the overall SHAPE of the car being the most evident.
My CMC 156 just got here. When I'm finished with lunch I'll take some pics... Initial indications: it's a stunner.
