hey people... I joined up a fair while ago but i have been living in a hole for a while with no contact to the outer world... haha... so here i am...

ok now as much as u guys hate to hear about it i was coming back from a car show here in australia with my friends pride n joy... and had a small bingle on the way... anyhow i am currently trying to source some parts... at this point in time i need i rear grille for the 348 and the left hand side tail light housing and cover. the rear bumper is most like non repairable also. if you could let me know pls? where and how much... or preferably any 2nd hand ones in good condition? im just not completely sure where to look. so if anyone could help out with a bit of research or anything i would be ever so appreciative. Anyhow let me know.
    Thanks

    Fabian

Thats not good news, I am also glad no one was hurt. You are the "Townsville Spider"? Are you fixing it yourself or having a shop do the work?

As far as parts go, talk to Ricambi N.A. first, and then as much as I cringe saying this, I have been perusing Ebay, and there have been a fair number of parts on the site recently. You may be able to find some of what you need. Also, I thought someone on Fchat was selling a front and rear bumper for a 348 recently...anyone help him out on that one?

I am sorry to say I take this completely different. I think some here may have overlooked this is not the posters car, it was borrowed from a friend. I would be a bit offended if my friend was borrowing "my pride and joy" wrecked it then started looking for used parts to fix it. Fabian, I am sorry but I would expect you to just pay for a complete repair with new parts. Just my .02 but really wouldn't you feel a little upset if the situation was reversed and your friend was simply looking for the cheapest way to repair your car without any concern about how it may come out. Please rethink this and fix your friend's car the way you would want if it were yours in the first place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How far away from mount Isa are you? There's a 348 there that's never driven.

Bawahahahahahaha...I knew there was something sinister about you and that black car VVassallo...

If that were my friend he would be fine, because I wouldn't have let him drive it in the first place.

I guess I don't really get what this post means? So does Fabian have selective memory as to who owns the 348? Are there 2 348's and he happens to have crashed his friends? Is the friends pride and joy stated above the friends mother or girlfriend? Is bingle another term for I wrecked my 348 while driving my friends pride and joy? What does your post indicate?

Scott, relax brother. The only one who know the real story is fabian, let's give him some time to explain him self, if he chooses too. No need to jump to conclusions. :)

James I am perfectly relaxed. I am simply quoting his exact words. Please don't act as if I have attacked you by asking what your post meant. It is a simple question as to the strange wording of two completely different facts by someone with 7 total posts. If you feel my belief that a friend should be more concerned about damage they caused is unwarranted then I see your point and accept it.

Scott, It might be the way I am interrupting your post's on this topic but it seems you have VERY strong feelings on this. My post was quoting 2 of the posts this user has made prior to today's thread, they are not my words. I do not know the answers you require, Fabian does.

Just to put this in prospective. A few years ago I had one of MY cars TOTALLED by a now ex friend, had to take him to court to get it sorted out (car was taken without permission) and he is still paying me at $25 per week. Fabian is talking about sourcing parts to fix this car, maybe not in a fashion that is up to some people's standards, but he has manned up and started the repair process. Everything else is speculation until Fabian fills in the gaps.

I see your point Sir! I do agree, I feel strongly that If I were to damage someone's property (assuming that is what happened here) then I should do my best to make it right not just get it fixed the cheapest way possible. In any event, you are right maybe it is Fabian's car but I find it hard to believe that it was a simple mistake to type "with my friends pride and joy" regardless I did not wish to appear offensive toward you!

All good brother! We are on the same page, and I agree with your feelings.

The story is somewhat incomplete. I'm sure when fabian returns he will be able to fill in the blanks for us. :)

That is more than a 'small bingle' when it comes to a RHD 348 Spider. I think will be stunned when you discover what it costs to put the car back together -- regardless of used or new parts. Deck, quarter, bumper, grille, lamp, wheel.... and likely a slew of smaller bits and pieces. My guess? $15k+ if done correctly. Do it under a shady tree with little care/experience with these cars, and you can probably get it back together for less.
