It looks promising at first glance, but the Ferrari factory didn't make 348 Spiders with the 355 scoops, 355 taillights, 355 wheels, and 355 front bumper.

Someone added that later, which is fine if that's your taste, but it's not OEM per 1994. When you dig into the carfax/autocheck records and examine the coachwork, you'll want to verify that those 355 pieces weren't added due to a collision repair, but rather, added simply because an owner had 355 taste preferences on a 348 budget.

I didn't think so. The way the ad is stated it seems to have been built that way. Especially in 1994

There was a 348 for sale in London a couple of years ago with a similar story, I just thought it was an after market change but the advert stated factory modification.

If I could choose the offspring of a 348/355 marriage I'd take the 6-spd drivetrain, decklid, and seats of the 355 and combine that with the body and interior of the 348.

Someone should email the seller, just in case he was misinformed when (if) they took the car on trade.

Quick question. If one owned this car, would they still be required to use lots of hair gel??????

I still find it amazing anyone would try to sell a car, much less a Ferrari, with blurry camera phone pictures.

I would have to say it is highly improbable that those mods were done at the factory. First, the 348 continued into 1995, why would a mid year (and I say mid year because my '94 Spider which was actually built in late 1993 is 96704, this one is 96794, and according to the registry, many 1994s were manufactured after 96794)

Is it just me or does the pic of the wheel look like its sitting funny.

They should have also cleaned the engine bay a bit.

I know it may be bastardized to some, but I think that is a beautiful car. No way it's factory, but I'd be proud to drive it.

I have to confess, when I first bought my 348, I purchased a pair of 355 scoops. As the strakes have grown on me, however, I think I will leave them on and sell the empty scoops. I think the strakes look great with the 360 wheels I put on.

I guess I'll wait untill I install my Husker Challenge Grill (sorry Husker, I can't call it a La Mans Grill!), and see if I'm done.

I think it looks good too, I just find it hard to believe that it came from the factory like that. I also was not a great fan of the side strakes when I picked up mine, but there is so much more I love about my car, and the strakes definately grow on you.

I think that we are all damn lucky to be able to go out and experience our cars, I don't care which ones, they are ALL SPECIAL! How lucky are we? It's like a drug, all you have to do is turn the key and fire up the engine (of course it isn't that simple, you need to turn the key to prime the...okay well you get the point! LOL) and you are one with the car. Enjoy it in good health! Get out there and DRIVE!!!

I think if you want a 348 go buy one.......If you want a 355 go buy one. Combining them isn't really my taste. I have owned both and they are completely different cars. It's like putting lip stick on a pig...

J/K all you 348 owners....I did love my 348 as it was my first Ferrari...:D and I do miss some aspects of it compared to my hair gel machine F355 Spider, the 348 is just a little underpowered.

Same here. I get the hair gel supply from Gothspeed (Oz). I can forward some of my stock to 348 owners who are thinking of getting a 355! I will send a box to VTC (Chris) and PAP anyway, I am sure both will be moving to the dark side soon... a place with perfect engine sound and more speed. :)
