0127E (195 Inter) at Sarezzo Lumezzane 1960 driven by Aldo Mazzetti. http://www.sarezzolumezzane.it/archivio.php Image Unavailable, Please Login
The first two are a 225S while owned by Peter Sachs. The same car was later owned by TIDE Racing in Palm Beach, FL. Third and fourth are Sherman Wolfe's 340MM before he repainted it B&W. This is at the FCA National in 1984. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
A little bit off subject but a Vignale car just the same. The late Phil Hill adjusting his own brakes during the Mille Miglia Historica 1986. Yes Gentlemen, they don't make them like that any more! Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have the feeling this is gonna be a very long thread... Anyway, 2 pictures of 0353AL in black (this time with te Vignale Emblem). Kind Regards, Joop van der Meer Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
My computer dial-up is too slow to look at all of the beautiful pictures! Has anyone posted pictures from the Vignale factory? I love these old shots, from Fawcett's "Sports Car Album", copyright 1953. There is a 10-page article on Vignale with lots of b&w pictures - sample here. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks to Marcel for starting a great thread, and to all who posted. I particularly enjoyed the several pix of 0170 (red with black top, but all red when I had it). The FCA had an annual meet in L.A. when I owned it, and they asked me to display it at the meet hotel. There were steps leading up to the entrance, and no-one had any idea how to get it up there, so I just drove it up! A hardy little beast, and lovely to look at and to drive.
There was a 500 Mondial with a Vignale berlinetta body (published in Dean Batchelor's 1st book/1974), does ANYONE have any pictures of it? It looked gorgeous, but tiny.
I love that car. Ed hired me to drive it to Scottsdale for(I believe) the first Barrett-Jackson auction. Unfortunately for Ed it didn't sell and I had to drive it back to LA. It rode like a horsecart around town but it was great at speed. Thanks, Ed. Anton(Tony)
Hi Harry-SZ, thank you very much for the pictures of 0170ET. The first two pictures show 0170ET at the Mille Miglia 2002. I entered 0170ET (I call it "The Lady") together with a friend of mine. It was hugh fun though it rained cats and dogs from Thursday evening to Saturday night. In the beginning we thought that we are lucky people driving a car with a roof but after a while the water even came through the front window seals and found its way behind the dashboard to our legs and all our belongings at the legroom (including my issue of "Red Arrows"). In fact we had a very humid climate inside and the biggest problem was to have the windows cleaned from fog from inside.... BTW I am standing next to the car discussing "Ferrari" with another friend of mine. Regards Bjoern
That looks like an interesting article. You've just inspired me to order a copy of the book. There are 4 more advertised on abebooks if any one else is interested.
Fantastic car Bjorn and nice story! I remember the bad weather that year. I will check to see if I made more pictures of your car during MM2002 and will post them if I find something.
Harry, great set of pics! I have to ask: what is the Lotus 7-like (apologies) car in pics 16-18? I haven't seen it before.
Here are some other pictures I made. I should get myself a scanner to digitalize my older pictures. You guys will agree with me after seeing these pictures. The first are from the Mille Miglia again (2001 and 2004). The last two are from the Ferrari racing days Nurburgring in 1997 or 1998. p.s. all the pictures I posted are made by myself of course. From most pictures I have bigger versions available. If anyone is interested, please PM me. It is a 225 Export if I am correct. Others here will know everything about this car. I believe it has been rebodied at least once.
Last one for now. During Concours het Loo in the Netherlands this year. I am looking forward to all the other pictures that are still coming. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
