Time to check some of those struggling volume dealers with huge inventorys for some deals.

 

Great info Jim, thanks for posting. Actually one of my coworkers and I were discussing this, he lives in one of the more affluent northside of Milwaukee communities. We tend to feel that Milwaukee is more of a conservative city. Meaning it isn't as affluent as the Chicago area and those around here that have money may be unwilling to buy a Maserati, it's just more of a Porsche, BMW, Mercedes kind of market.

Also, while some would be persuaded to go down to LFSC to get a Maserati they would really have to want it. It is a 1.5 hour drive from Milwaukee to LFSC and that is a significant amount of time to spend driving down for service, etc.

 

Why would Maserati install a satellite store only 90 minutes from Chicago, in a much less affluent city (Milwaukee), when the two Chicago purveyors are in the middle of the list, in terms of sales, of all American Maserati dealers? This makes no sense to me.

 

I thought it was weird that this screen name was not taken when I registered a few weeks ago, now I realize I misspelled it...

Sad to see that Maserati Milwaukee closed, but as others have said, it makes the most business sense for LFSC/Mr. Mancuso.

 

If LFSC and Continental were located in a climate that was conducive to all weather driving, they would be at the top or near top of the list. West coast dealers, at least I don't think, won't see much of a decline.

 

No matter what the weather, if your area is having a major economic downturn you will have lost sales. The southwest coast and south Florida are in bigger trouble than you seem to think.
By the way, what makes you think Maserati's are not driven year round in the Great Lakes region?? Thats why they have heaters.

 

Hah! Had to laugh out loud about that one. Not quite. Its actually a lot closer to some very tough areas.

Milwaukee is no less affluent than Chicago; it's just a lot quieter about its money.
