M5 will take it for the first few hundred feet (playing the M5's torque).........then the 430 will pull away............
M5 has the lowest torque of all the high performance sedans in it's class. Like the 430,you really have to wind it up to get it going. It's a toss up,driver skill dependant,with equal skills Ferrari should win,lose if the M5's pilot is better....

I hate to be the kill joy here, but I hope you are not saying you are going to be racing on a public highway??!!!!!! Do the citizens a favor and stay at home and try on a video game. If you happen to be on a private or closed road surface all the best and my guess the F430 should win. Robert
Im know the F430 is the faster car but the M5 held its own in this video. It seemd the F430 had a slite jump in the BMW which let it get the little lead it had, plus the M5 had a third passenger. So I'd have to say those two cars were almost dead even. Jim
Unless the third person is a dwarf, I'm only seeing the driver and the cameraman when he pans across the interior of the car. But you're right, the M5 was able to keep up surprisingly well given its modifications.
The M5 was modded. Remove the mods and the passengers, and my guess is the result will be the same. I know M5s with a bit of work done to them will outpace a Gallardo from a roll. F430 will outpace a Gallardo from a roll, which yields about the same result as what was posted in the vid.
I have an M6 Cab and a F430 Spider and I can tell you there's no comparison. My M6 has the Dinan rear end and Filters removed and the 430 is stock. My 430 walks away. 0-100MPH, about 10 car lengths. Love both cars!!!
So what ????????? Man, drive a track with a real super-sports-car and the track with a tanker - then you will feel the difference between motorsports and just driving straight on!!!!!!!
apples and oranges....new M5 and my CS M5 has more power but it is a pig by comparison. just so much mass. the F430 is supposed to be similar to the CS in performance. I felt a world of difference between the two. can't see how the F430-M5 comparison wouldn't be the same.
I owned both a 430 and a very moded M6, 430 is faster, but I do agree that the drivers will make a difference, you need to drive the M5 or M6 in S6 (which mean all traction cotrol off) to really get the most out of the car, and it is not easy to get traction and in S6, drive well you win.
The Kelleners M5 in that video will walk away from a stock M5. . . stock 430 is quicker then stock m5....several car lengths...no prob
Father had an M5, now has an M6 and a Ford GT. The 430 should walk away from the bimmer, but don't go up against a modded GT.
With these 2 mods, how much hp does the M5 gain? I guess the f430 will jump ahead for the first 100m's or so but then the M5 with these mods,may can catch her or come close to the F430??????
So... out of curiousity, what does the F430 do when you shut of TC and dump the F1 clutch from a dig. I've never tried it in my 430. In the M6 the car goes sideways and smokes it's tires. I know it certainly can't be good for the clutch.
