Here are some photos I just took of the two Make Up Ferraris I have. I just got the 512BB from Mike at Miniwerks. For the most part, I find the Make Up cars comparable in build quality and detail to the MR and BBR models. Where I think Make Up does better is the paint is more realistic in that there's less paint buildup - creating more realistic shut lines.

Nice except for some of the paint around the windshields being a little worn off?

You got me worried there... It's actually a reflection from an overhead light that I should have switched off :)

Have several F40's 599, 512BB's and they are the best available!
I have been collecting handbuilt for 25 years, Make Up has set a new standard.
Only issue is the fact that they are creating to many different versions with small alterations like wings and wheels..

I wouldn't collect the minor variations or colors.... Did that with my Honda collection and ran out of room and money :)

Sure looks like the black paint wore off a little and is showing red to me. I had a Make Up F430 with the same issue. I had it swapped out. I was told the black is hand painted and prone to wearing off if not extra careful....

That GTO sure is beautiful though!

    A F-430 by Make-Up ?
You would be the only one in the world.
    Make-Up never made the F-430.

I have quite a few myself and I agree with s2ktaxi, they are very good value for the money.

I have since picked up 4 LookSmart 1/43 Ferraris and have 1 BBR for comparison - though of different Ferraris so the comparison may not be totally fair. What I've found is that the MakeUp are best in terms of shut lines and definitely up there in terms of shape/design accuracy. The BBRs have paint that is impressive in that it looks deep and glossy but I find the paint piled on too thick - causing shutlines that stand out in a bad way. The LookSmarts (and to some extent the BBRs) use photo etched parts to impress but in doing so fall flat so to speak because many of the photo-etched parts just look "flat" (2-dimensional).
