having owned both cars, don't bet $ on yourself.

Unless he has his foot duct taped to the brake so he can't get it moved over to the gas...

If your spider has the flux capacitor option installed, it MIGHT win.

Sorry, we're just joshing ya. The Lambo will smoke the 355, everytime. Also probably kill it in the corners, too, due to AWD. BUT the Lambo is butt-ugly compared to the 355, and the L will never sound anywhere near as cool. Also, I've heard the newer Lambos just feel like really really fast Audis. My 355 actually feels like I've always thought a Ferrari should feel. The 360 was a little too user friendly for me.

Don't buy a car just so you can beat your friend and have bragging rights, you will be spending a bunch of money to do something that isn't really that cool. The 355 is a car for the true Ferrari enthusiast, bought because you love the lines, you love the feel, and you love the sound. If all u want is to go fast, buy the new Zo6 vette.

That being said, the 355 is the coolest car ever produced, and you won't be disappointed unless all you're after is 0-60 times.

Edit, sorry just saw your last post. I think the Lambo is around 4-4.2 depending on year, and the 355 is around 4.6-4.7, depending on tranny, 2.7-5.2, body style, extra-equipment, etc. Good luck!

Friends don't let friends buy Lambos.

    Lambos are for poseurs.

If you wanted performance with no style, buy a Porsche instead. At least they have racing experience.

    :)

    NO.

I know I had to pull from two sources, but it never fails that Lambo gets bashed first for being Audi, and then for no racing history... make up your mind people :)

I do think the G-car feels a little sterile, but it is a fabulous machine, wickedly fast, and the convertible is one of the best looking drop tops ever made. And the V10 sounds incredible; very different from the 355, but incredible nonetheless.

But no, I am not trading my 355 on one just yet....

I've driven both, the Gallardo is definitely faster, but not by that much. Back in 2005 I raced a friend from a light to 80 mph, me in my 6 speed 355 spider, and him in a 2005 6 speed Gallardo...he never got more than my front bumper even with his rear wheels right up to 80mph. I asked him later if he was easing off, and he said no, hard on the throttle the whole time.

Well, I currently own both cars. My 97 F355B is perfect with Tubi, Brembo brakes, Speedline wheels and more. The 05 Gallardo is also perfect and completely stock except for the chrome wheels. Bottom line is this, I love the 355 but it is semi-retired now and stays up on the lift most of the time. The Gallardo is much and I mean MUCH faster. The power curve is amazing, the all wheel drive is stunning and the look turns heads everywhere. Now, I have always been a Ferrari guy and will probably keep one just for the reason that I don't want to be without it. But, the Gallardo and 355 are so much different that they shouldn't be compared. It isn't a contest, the G wins uncontested. But, the beauty of the 355 is classic, the sound is incredible and just taking it out is pure joy. BTW: Both cars are 6 speeds. My 355 is one of the fastest I've driven but don't even try to keep up with the G, just too much H.P. makes it a non-contest.

Nice post! My question to you is regarding maintenance. How does the Gallardo compare to the 355? (I hope better).
