Well I thought you'd like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9KX8aQeiog He calls the GTR the fastest production car... my ass...
Apparently he's a car nut and that is his car, but come on... fastest production car? GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT TOM!
Like a dung beetle....wait....dung beetles are actually handsome compared to the gtr ......all kidding aside, I can see how some might like the look but it just has no soul at all both in terms of design and performance
Throw it in the same category as the Enzo for me. Japanese designed angular (ugly) cars only available in F1 tranmissions (no fun). bleh
Haha! I have nothing against the design. I think it looks actually somewhat good from the side, but hell don't put it in the same category as an Enzo... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think the GTR is a great car for the money. I can't stand the thought of buying a car and letting it sit in a garage 350 days a year. Any car I buy is going to get 12,000+ miles a year no ifs ands or buts! Id drive the GTR in snow, rain, or shine. The Enzo is a barely street legal race car that will just end up sitting in garages / showrooms with 1 week of use a year if its lucky. I will agree, the japanese cars dont have the soul and character of the italian cars. I think what they lack in this area, they make up for it in performance value. As an example, how many cars outperform the GTR at a lower price point? The only thing in my mind close would be the Z06 Corvette.
I have a 430 but I'm seriuosly considering a GT-R for track use. The thought of crashing my 430 makes track days a lot less fun than they were when I drove a 911S. With the the GT-R I can get performance close to the 430, better than the 911S, F1-type transmission, and a lower repair cost if there is an off-track experience. Not as sexy and no soul, but cheap and fast.
A funny video about the GT-R's "limited" Launch Control which is junk, and costs the consumer a cool 20,000 Euros when (not if) it breaks since it isn't covered by Nissan (ouch@!) http://jalopnik.com/5132775/mr-hitler-nissan-japan-called-back-about-
I know a guy who owns a black Enzo around the area and he drives it rain or shine, snow or, well, sleet lol. I know another guy in the area with two red enzos, drives them both a good amount. I'm with the "drive them as they're meant to be driven" theory for sure.
