if you take a look at the photo gallery here http://www.rtrcycles.com you can see the shop that i work in. it is a small Yamaha/KTM shop and i am the only tech there so if i am waiting on parts to come in a i can grab another lift and get started on the next job. Perhaps the best shop i ever worked at and we are still busy here in the middle of winter in IL.

Oh man not you guys!!

What sort of speed over do I need to be doing to actually get pulled? Everyone says 10 over but that seems a little high?

For me, it's usually 12. School zones are different. Everyone is different though. That's the nice thing about my job. Everything that pisses you off while you're driving, I actually get to do something about it. My biggest beef, believe it or not, is people parking in the handicap spots that aren't supposed to be there. I'd much rather write them then the speeders.

Great thread guys, very enjoyable. I wish I had something to show other than the inside of my work truck. Although. I do work in mostly multi-million dollar homes, I'm not sure if it would morally right to post picks of someone else's house. Nice shot badges2!

Only on my contractual breaks!!! The handicappers are pretty popular right now with my department. There's a lot of abuse with people using other people's placards. Some of my favorite stories are people's excuses when they get caught using someone else's placard. But I don't want to be a hijacker of this thread!

That's good to know, Are cops allowed to have tagger alongs for a night? I have to write about an experience for one of my classes and was thinking about going to the local police station to see if I could spend a night with one of the patrol units but didn't want to embarrass my self!?

It depends on the city. Some allow it, others dont. Atlanta had a program called "ride along" where we would allow citizens to go on shift work. It was not for everyone.

Yup, It's called a "Ride Along" in some places, some police stations actually encourage it, so people can see what they go through. Just a curious question...why does it have to be at night time?

We have a ride-along program which is available to anyone who requests it. It's usually up to the person what shift they want to observe, however, all the action is on afternoon shift. We also have (or had until the budget dumped) a citizen's police academy. That's a few week long program where the people go thru classes and observations to see what it is we do. It's extremely popular and will fill up almost when it's posted.

Tifosi (spell?) asked me if the Chicago FCA could stop by the station during their upcoming fall drive. I checked with the bosses and they loved the idea of a bunch of Ferraris stopping in to visit. We're going to take pics with the squads and Fcars and have tours, etc.. I think I'm more excited than he is!

    Here's my cave.

On 1/1/09 I got "promoted" so to speak and have my own private enclosed office now. Out of 40+ agents, no one else except for the broker here has a private enclosed office, so that's a big deal to me. I have a private fridge, scanner, copier, etc. Although small, I actually have a window!!! I lived 2 years without one. LOL.

I need a huge Ferrari mural on the wall. Anyone have one they wish to donate? ;)

Great! I'll go in this week and see if I can get in on the action, reason I wanted nights is because my classes are spread out from 9 to 6 so figured they'd be a lot easier, also this is a college town so I figure a lot of their work is done at night with all the underage drinking etc.
