Sad announcement as he's been the pillar of one of the most important teams in F1 for so long. Frank Williams must be the only other man to have led a team as many years.

Damn! I enjoyed spending all those years hating the man! I cherish the memory of bumping into him at Monza and saying "Ron Dennis - you are the devil". I think he liked it too cos his eyes lit up red!

His leaving will be a loss to me. F1 needs a new baddy now. Maybe it's old-age but I actually like all the current drivers and team principals (except Nick Fry, but surely he won't be around in 2009?).
    ;)

Good riddance. I sure won't miss the smirk of the sore looser. McLaren will do just as well without him

It's true and I'm the kind of Brit that supports Ferrari. I think this happened in 1999 - it was the time that Mika crashed and cried in the woods.

DAAAAAAAMN...I thought I´ll never see Lucifer step down...

...I´ll miss him, although I can hate Whitmarsh too after having his eyes and hands everywhere on the "stephneygate" and walking away untouched.

Ron was his master ...his dirty deeds will live on...

Not a fan and glad he's stepping off the stage, but I've heard quite a few say that over the years.

Flavio is the only interesting team principal left. Ron has always been outspoken, the rest of the team principals are very corporate. Except for Frank Williams.

...I´ll miss the enigmatic smile...I always got the impression that while he was laughing and smiling...he was muttering "what are you looking at bloody morron"

It appears that there is a little more to this flight stewart issue that he created then was reported. I'm sure the big dogs told him to get off of the porch. By By so long Lucifer.

Do you guys think that the deal between him and Hamilton still stands. If Ham wins 3 WDC he would get that Mclaren?

Wonder if this changes LH's plan to stay at Mclaren forever?
