http://www.planetf1.com/story/0,18954,3213_4798120,00.html Timo Glock insists the barrage of abuse he faced in the wake of last year's Brazilian Grand Prix has fired him up for the new season. Glock was accused of deliberately allowing Lewis Hamilton to pass him on the final lap at Interlagos, so giving the Briton the fifth place he required to become Formula One World Champion. The reality was very much different as Glock and his Toyota team had opted to stay out on dry tyres on a track becoming wetter by the minute in the closing stages. But the 26-year-old German found himself heavily criticised, taking the gloss off what was a strong second half of the season in his debut campaign. "Brazil was not an easy race, and for a couple of weeks afterwards it was not easy," said Glock, speaking at the online launch of the team's new car, the TF109. "A lot of people don't understand what really happened on the race track because for me we did everything right. "A lot of German commentators asked why I let Lewis by, and stuff like that, which didn't make it easy for the fans. There was a lot of negative reaction. "When you know you've done a good job and made the right decisions, but in the end you get a lot of negative stuff, negative emails from fans, it's tricky to deal with. "I was annoyed at the time but not now, not any more. Now I don't care. We are in 2009 and I'm focused on my job." For Glock, that hopefully means getting ahead of Hamilton. He added: "That will be the target. "I definitely want to be in front of Lewis - and if we are in front of him and McLaren, it means we will have made a good start to the 2009 season Something smells here, maybe I stepped in something.
The whoe conspiracy falls apart when you consider how much more Ferrari would have paid him to take Hamilton out...
Can the mods please start locking posts regarding Glock and him getting passed by Hamilton? This is "conspiracy" idea is dumb. Glock did nothing wrong. .
