Great to hear Jimmy!! Where have you been lately mate?? Busy with work eh?? Or have you picked up a g/f?
Hey brother!! I was holidaying, but it has come to an end now. Not to worry, I had a great time! That, and I have more time off this month than work. Yes on the g/f too, she is great!
Don't want to jinx myself and I will spare you all the details, but bottomline is I have not smoked since Tuesday evening around 7pm---Cold turkey, no drugs, gum or patches... Cross my fingers that it holds up....3 days so far!! As of last year, I had smoked for exactly 20 years.... For crist sakes look at my avatar, see what smoking does to you!!
Right on!! Soon you'll smell it on other smokers. Yes, you smelled like that too. That's one of the things that keeps me flying straight.
DUDE! Great news! If you have trained your mind not to want a cig for 3 days, you're done! No more smoking!
Hey Robbie, That's fantastic news - congrats !! Don't worry about jinxing yourself. You can and should talk about it (with pride) any time it strikes your fancy. You've removed a dangerous monkey from your life. You were successful at quitting - at right about 7pm on Tuesday ! Cheers mate, Hank
Found myself smoking a couple hear and there, but I am still happy. 5 a day is better than 20 a day.....Only had 2 all day today.. Normally I would smoke a pack a day..
Five days with out smoking has kind of grown out of my last long haul return. Once you start making changes where do you stop/go? This could easily grow into a mid-life change thing.
Same here, brother. I'm weaning myself slowly down without the use of medications. I gone from approximately 1/2 pack per day down to 3-4 per day. It's my only bad habit. These last few are going to be extremely difficult, because I'm completely dependent upon my cigarette after a meal. It's amazing how many physicians are "closet smokers" (a couple per day), but admittedly deny it! LOL
I have absolutely no craving at all now. A bit amazing actually. Cigarettes and lighters everywhere as my lady is still smoking the additive free brand. At the stop overs on my flights it just didn't feel worth walking down to the smoking rooms and my interest has just continued to fall away since I've got back. Maybe I can finally keep a clean car interior now! A clean, new leather smell, would be a nice bonus to stopping's other benefits.
Hey Modeler, As for your lady (and I think you're already on top of this - say nothing - - she just may dive into the same mental river that you did - but at least, you won't be accused of nagging. Funny how our little brains can control such a monster as a 747 ------- yet, that little cylinder of paper filled with tobacco (and unmentionables) - becomes a life or death challenge. But not for you - and not for me - and not for so many others on this planet Congrats - Hank
Thanks Hank. Saving the equivalent of a 3x8 interior retrim each year I just calculated. I really want to get out the chemical additive message to those still struggling. Its not majic but it is much easier to just give up tobacco.
Good work brother! It's a great feeling to have broken the habit. That is the bit that makes me feel the best, sure there are health benefits but for me its knowing I broke the worst habit I had. Priceless. Haha, Thanks Chris! Thanks brother! And good work Robbie, Now just stop. It is that simple. +355 +355
