Beautiful! Man that black is shiny and deep! Your guy really knows what he is doing.

Too bad for the half inch scratch on the left door. Otherwise it is perfect! Kidding ... made you look
Sy it looks brilliant. I better go outside and polish mine some more, otherwise i won't be able to park beside yours. Cannot wait to see it in the flesh. I feel a scud run coming on.
Sy: I all honesty I believe this is the finest black paint job I have ever seen. The depth, clarity and smoothness of the finish is almost unbelievable. For it to look this good at this stage, indoors and under fluorescent lights is a true testament to Al's abilities. Given the quality of the job, you are being charged an incredibly low price. I've seen $12,000 "show" paint jobs that couldn't compare to this one. ENJOY!!!
+1 I was talking with a friend last night about this thread, the quality of that paint work in the photos alone in enough for me to say I have never seen paint this good. It is perfect, makes me want to do a respray on my car now.
You dont know how right you are, I asked to have my car painted to a show winning standard and paid 2 times the figure you quoted and i can tell you it is not a very good job at all.
Scott, that's just the first stage of the polishing so far. Dave is coming in the first week of february and will spend another 4 days machine polishing and waxing the paintwork.
Looking absolutely magnificent Sy. Really makes me want to get my car over to Als for the treatment. How does he do all that work by himself?
Hi Sy Been following this thread from the begining the car looks fantastic Al has a real gift, he has done just as good a job to Mark Collins 328gts on the 308/328 area, loved to see the car when finished, are you doing any foc events this year? pm me if you like. Regards Roy
Hi Roy, I'll be filming at various FOC events this year. I'll definetly be at the FOC concours, some of teh trackdays, hill climbs and maybe even the spring picnic. I'll be the one with the big video camera & headphones. Hope to see you soon.
Hi Terry long time no speak, os=r see come to that. Yes Al does all his own work, I popped down to see him a few weeks ago and his enthusiasm is amazing. However, as I recall, the last time I saw your 355 it looked pretty spectacular.
Day 32 The carbon sills from MaCarbon.com are ready and should be shipped off to Al today from the US. MaCarbon are the only company that I know of who do the 348 sills. Although 355 sills will fit, they don't have the protruding edge that the 348 needs. I've also got a set of aluminium inserts from them as well. Thanks to John at maCarbon for everything. Al's also received the box of Liquid Leather cleaning materials that Dave will be applying to the interior leather. I've been finding out the cost of getting Rocky transported to my house. I've received two quotes of £320 & £260 plus vat. It's probably cheaper to drive the car back myself and invite Dave round to do another top up later. Have to have it clean for it's first public outing. I'll make the final decision in a few weeks. Al says...... "Luggage lid reveal prepped & painted Satin black. Lower front wing flitches as above. Area behind front bumper properly cleaned & detailed. Headlamp pods & cover panels prepared for paint. New stainless steel bolts & washers fitted to front wing mountings in luggage reveal. (Lettering correctly aligned on each bolt)." Hey, he's using a Black & Decker Workmate. Looks just like mine! Great photos and workmanship Angelis. You'll soon be a proud Pappa again....
Day 33 Al says.... "Both side skirts painted & headlamp cover panels & buckets painted. I've just got back from Cardiff (hence early finish!), all stuff is ok & present, unwrapped the 'screen & checked it's ok whilst there. Wiper blade, seals etc all there as well as the rear glass. Also got the box (containing ferrrai badge & Osram nightbuster bulbs) from you today as well." Here's a close up of the headlight cover. You can clearly see the orange peel. It will be sanded down using the various grades to get a smooth and clean finish. The body started off like this as well. Image Unavailable, Please Login
