    Yes,

well the main reason is tyhat i do like the shape of the model that much. Much more than the newer ones.

I bought the 328 last April but it was always a choice between a 328 and a 308 QV. (as they use almost the same techniques)
Soon after the 328 i ran across this nice yellow (maybe my favorite color...) QV and simply couldn't resist.

But, do not be surprised as a third 3x8 will join them soon......

As said, i just love their shape..................... (like a woman laying on the side)

Steven, did you mean not to be surprised IF a third one will join them. A 288 would also be nice.
Very nice pair by the way, I also like yellow a lot.

finding the place to store is not the issue, find the right car is..

I do like the 288 but the ultimate goal stays the F40...

    Can't argue with that.
Will post some pics of my garage (only one 328) when the car's back from its service.

In stead of going up you may consider digging a hole for the next one.
Another reason to stick with this model is height (or lack of it)! ;-)

That's why I love the spoon so much, lol.

I mentioned a 360 and a 3*8 at the same time but the truth is that I don't feel like the 360 will ever be a Ferrari icon as the 308/328. It certainly isn't as beautiful and well balance in design/looks.

My ultimate is the 288GTO but Im far to poor for that dream.

You make it sound like the 360 has no history in the making? We all love the Ferrari 308, 328 & 288 GTO but, these are iconic to the mid 70's and late 80's mostly know by us due to strong televised programs like Magnum P.I. or , Two Live in Die in LA, Weird Science, etc..

Ask yourself about the Racing History of the 308, 328, & 288 and what do you get? Not Much!

The Ferrari 360 Modena on the other hand is a Technological break thru and will be remember in the Ferrari timeline as the beginning (All Aluminum Era) of back to racing (GT Cars, F360GT, ALMS & 24 Hours Le Mans, etc.) It was bold move by Ferrari to start with a clean sheet on the development of the 360 and if you ask me it will be remembered more so by the new generation of owners and dreamers of the 360/430 era.

Heck I still remember dreaming about the Ferrari Berlinetta Boxer & 308, 328 along with many other Italian cars from the 80's. Now that I am much older and can afford/own a Ferrari I look at things a bit different, somewhat cought in between the old and new. Very much like which is beter 6 Speed Manual or F1 Trans? It's a great experience to see how far Ferrari has come by racing their products next to Porsche's in the ALMS.

The 360, 430 have more racing history and it's still being written and it's a Great Chapeter for Ferrari! Will it be as great as the 3*8 Chapter I guess we have to wait 30 years after the first run of the 360 Modena, Yikes! That will be 2030! I know I will still be alive so, I will have to just wait and see. ;P)

PS. Great looking Garage with the 328!

    Ciao,

    SRR

I understand your point one hundred percent but I guess that I'm looking at this subject from the view point of styling quite a bit. Some exotics like the 308, Lamborghini Countach, B. Boxer, etc. were so different to everything else on the road and today the 360, 430, 599 might look expensive and sort of exotic but I find that they don't stand out from the normal cars as much as the older exotics as mentioned. Only the supercars in the league of Enzo, Zonda, F50 and so on, are the things that really have that kind of contrast to the normal cars. Maybe this example is a little to extreme.

Well from a point of Style & Design yes, the 308 and other Exotics from the 80's were ahead of their time. Now that everyone has caught up with the time, it's a bit harder to design something that can stand out. Today’s average cars all look the same at a glance. It must be a real challenge to go beyond the realm of design to allure new clients/owners looking for that exotic look. What I like about the 360 & 430 is how it displays the engine like a work of art aside from the overall exterior styling. 80's car were doing similar but, they had to open the rear section like the Berlinetta boxer, and or the F40 which combined both viewing pleasures. :)

However one example I have to mention was the "Lancia Rally 037", along with the BMW M1 & Lotus Turbo Esprit. All these from the 80's were Super Cars very much like the 288 and Porsche 959. The Lancia Rally 037 had the rear glass panel and the entire rear section opened like the F40. This was a car built back in 1982.

The past rage of going back to the old (Retro) designs are a somewhat disappointing to me but, the more and more I think about it I can sense the direction of their passion. For years I was thinking that Retro is a sell out to not being able to produce a new design or a bridge to allow something made while in the background something bigger and never seen before was awaiting to hatch. That might have been the case of the Ford GT. It's a business that must turn a profit while keeping us happy and continuing to purchase these items of desire.

What will 2010 be like? Will once again the cars go as far as they did in the 80's to stand out? The future is near and technology is everywhere so, lets hope we see something monumental.

    Ciao,

    SRR

    Alex,

Nice R8, The Blue is different and I like it! I asume your garage will be upgraded to reflect the Audi? I need to finish my garage, it's about 80% done and was a total mess when I moved into the house. It's come a long way...
