Not specific enough, which piece of rear glass? Possibly a used one from Maseratisource.com. He has a shell of an Espada left. It's in California though. Bob S.
#9630...I saw it in NL 2 years ago at Friso Peeters's garage, he was wondering 37.500 euro and sold it to a Belgium trader, I'm assuming to my fellow Jack Piers, who then sold it to these french brokers ! It was already resprayed in that Bentley green paint code. BTW, nice combination ! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Can you Espada experts please tell me where the Bertone build stampings or grease pencil markings are on the Espada? any photos of what to expect? Also where is a chassis/engine list relating to the Bertone build number? I notice the Lamborghini factory tag does not indicate the Bertone connection. Not my Espada, but riveted to the nicest one I have seen. thank you Craig Image Unavailable, Please Login
When did the practice of a rivited dash plate on Espada, visable from outside the windshield, with the Lamborghini chassis number begin? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Can anyone post a clear, in focus, close enough for detail, good lighting photo of the welded Lamborghini chassis number plate found on the front cross rail of the Espada ? Do all Espada have this welded Lamborghini chassis number tag? and did the the exact design of this plate stay exactly the same thruout the entire S1, S2, S3 Espada build series? Maybe it is not a tag but part of the chassis? thank you for your help on this Craig Image Unavailable, Please Login
Mine is a tag, welded, originally red, and same size of the ones on the Miuras. I believe this one has a lot of paint around it... Philippe S2 7987 www.lamborghinimiura.com
Thank you Philippe, great info. My research today has found the LHD Espada will be marked as you say top of right side inner fender well, near wiper motor. The RHD Espada may be opposite side. Would you please PM me your Bertone build number if possible. Thanks Craig Image Unavailable, Please Login
I 've checked with 3 Espada at LCB, none of them has rivited dash plate...does this lead to a conclusion : only on american Espada ?
Quite possible it was to "sort of" comply with USA regs dealing with posted VIN numbers. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Espadas photos taken in about 1980. Red car had later dashboard. Car drove very well, especially after it was made to run on 12 cylinders, was quite fast, especially on narrow Welsh roads! Had a 1969 302 Z28 Camero and 246 Dino amongst others at that time, Lambo was the one that felt like a "proper" car! Civilised and fast. White car had early shrouded instruments and had reputedly belonged to film actress Barbara Windsor of "Carry on films" etc. Was accident damaged (slight) and engine removed but complete. Kept for spares. Both sold to a guy who lived near Silverstone and had a mint series 3. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Have you any more pictures of the white car,I have never seen a RHD drive S1 Espada with the early dashboard before, all the S1 cars that are on the road in the UK seem to have S2 dahboards
Hi, I surprised myself, photos of instrument panels for both cars! Sorry quality is not so good. I always assumed the white car instrument panel was the first style but I stand corrected if it was not. The red car had a different style and was registered in 1971 or 2, I assume series 2. Both had those knock - off wheels. The white car was just part of the package to keep the better one running, most who had old exotics had to have a spares car! It was not fashionable at this time to like or "rate" Espadas, all the "knowledgable" bad mouthed them, but then most of those types probably never drove one out on the open road. That red car was quite fast, I was impressed, but kept quiet about it. I used to take my 3 kids to school in it, it was not the most economical car when driven with enthusiasm, but I'd have another. Still an amazing looking car, always got an interest, also quite easy to work on. At the same time in the next village there was another white Espada owned by a guy who'd had his for many years, maybe he still has it, I'll have to check. Not far from where I lived was another chap with a 350 or 400 reg no LAM1E, he also had a F-BB and 246. The white car in the photos I think ended up in a Whitney, Oxfordshire Classic dealer, where I happened to be about 15 years ago, and I was told it or the engine went to a guy in the Reading area, engine to help rebuild an early Countach. I know who if you want a name, pm me.
For some reason didn't load photos! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks for posting,I have never seen an early RHD S1 dashboard [white car] nobody in the UK who knows Espadas thought they made any cars with the early dash, I think the red car still exists awaiting restoration the only RHD S1 cars I have seen including my own have the later S2 dashboard Image Unavailable, Please Login

Does anyone know anything about Espada with reg.number VIA 7K? A blue one from England. Best regards! Magnus
Well, always nice to discover new Espada facts, isn't it? Looks like a very nice S1 you have there, my compliments! Would you please share the chassis and enginenumber with us? Looks like it's parked next to Stehen Keen's 400 GT 2+2 ;-) Cheers, Marcel
Gosh what a great thread. I have always wanted an Espada. I plan to have one soon. I'd like to rescue one.
