Talk abot a sexy tire... Ladies and Gentlemen, the RE-01R!!!!! On 328 wheels. Great tire. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I just wanted to clarify something........ The Bridgestone RE 001 Adrenalins and RE 01R's Potenzas are two different tires, not a typo. Cheers....... Bob.
It took me awhile to get over a v tread pattern on an old car. But the sidewall is real clean and they drive wonderfully.
Well, everyone seems to have an opinon about tires for the 328...so here's mine. These cars came stock with Goodyear Eagle VR which are of course not made 20+ years later, bit I think these cars look best with a tire that is more period correct rather than some tire that looks like it should be on a Viper or a Vette. I run the Goodyear Eagle F-1...not the DGS as the F1's have a "closer" period correct tread. Not to mention, it's a great value and a great all around performing tire. If you go the extra mile and have them match mounted they ride like a sewing machine. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Goodyear&tireModel=Eagle+F1+All+Season&vehicleSearch=false&partnum=25YR6F1AS&fromCompare1=yes&place=1
I suppose if you need all season tires on a 328 the F1 your chose might be good choice. But as far as I could see the Goodyear Eage GT RSA or GT HR look a bit more like period correct tires from the 80s. While the Goodyear F1s are probably a good all around performer, its hard to compare them to the F1 GS-D3 and Bridgestone RE-O1Rs, as they fall into a different catagory of tire. The GS-D3s and RE-O1Rs will out perform the F1 all season tires, unless you specifically intend to drive your car in bad weather or as temps drop below 45 degrees and summer performance tires get hard and lose a lot of their grip. But Best regards, Dino
hi Chris, thanks for the input ! Controlled testing is great; however, I am more interested in hearing what fellow 328 owners have on their cars and their own opinions on them I've got Yokohama A540 55VR's on my 328 but havent tried them yet as my car is in storage till spring :-(
Sorry that I have been hibernating the last couple of months. It will be a busy year catching up on projects. Did a lot of forum hopping and I now have 4 new Bridgestone Potenza RE01Rs sitting pretty in my garage ready to go on the 328 next week. Added 4 new wheel centers from T Rutlands as well. Will report back but thought the reviews and looks were both VERY good for my car. Robb Williamson
Again, unless you drive your Ferrari over 5,000 miles a year you aren't going to get full tread use of the tire before the rubber goes bad. For all of us that drive 3,000 or less a year go with the softest high performance tire with tread (no DOT R Hoosiers ).
Pirelli pzero nero M&S. Not too stiff a sidewall, so keeps the ride compliant. Good predictable drift characteristics, probably at the expense of ultimate grip, but controllability means more for me on the street. I drive into late fall early winter, and wanted near freezing tire capability, including when wet.
