Ill start off by saying, this isnt an advertisement, but I want to explain to everybody the reason for changing the name of my company.

I have been under the name Northern California Ferrari for the past couple of years. Well today, I got a letter from the attorneys of Ferrari SPA. They are restricting the use of my name NCFerrari and Northern California Ferrari because they say it represents a Ferrari Dealership. I may be a parts vendor, but that doesnt matter. They want it gone. So, Im now ExotiComp. End of story.

It totally sucks. The advertising, the customer repore, everything I have put into the company, I have to change it. They want nothing with the word Ferrari in representation of Ferrari Parts. Ferrari Parts Exchange is ok I assume, but they wouldnt even let Northern California Ferrari Parts.

Frankly I think they are right to pursue you like that. There's a big difference between "Ferrari Parts Exchange" and "Northern California Ferrari"

Your name was misleading at best. I would have pursued vigorously if I were them.

We are getting everything changed over now as we speak. Also adding other brands and products. May be a good thing.

We decided to take a different approach and move beyond just Ferrari. Tapping into other markets will only improve things. The new name, look, ideas, and advertising will hopefully draw a larger audience.

They actually just went after google and had all paid ads removed containing the word Ferrari because google was getting paid for using the word Ferrari. Not mentioning names, but all paid advertisers were removed. Now, we are all being contacted one by one to remove Ferrari from our names.

Now, all advertising on Google must be under Italian Car Parts or something of the like.

Maybe it was also the the fact that you were using Ferrari's font as the base design for your company's logo........

Sorry to hear that bro, but your car did have the word Ferrari, in their font, plastered all over it with the rest of the vinyl, and NCFerrari does "imply" a dealership.

    Therapists, lol.

Oh well... All of the vinyl is being removed and the new company name is being made. Should have it in a week or so.

NCFerrari was good for location. Everybody knows im in California. i am not implying I am a Ferrari Dealer. A Parts Dealer maybe, but we dont sell cars.

They want nothing with the word Ferrari. IE: Trutlands, Ricambi, etc. They are just regulation to keep the Ferrari name on Ferrari products. Its ok.. No biggie. Its over and done with and I have new ideas to put forth. I even though NC Exotics, but nah. ExotiComp. Its my own word, like Intel or Ebay or Google. Over time, the name will grow into a brand.

Pulled all of the NCFerrari vinyl off the car today... Should I put the new business name up or leave it off? Whats your take?
