Want to avoid getting pulled over going 100mph+? The Audi R8 Blackbird has been outfitted to do just that; speed across the country without getting pulled over. Don’t care to risk it? Follow the anonymous buider of this masterpiece who plans to do it himself and takes us through how in the video after the jump.

To start with the roof panel is outfitted with the most advanced radar gun scanning system on the market, rear light and brake light kill switches, a liquid coolant infrasonic waves generator which cancels out the Audi R8’s presence to a radar gun, along with radar-sensing enabled GPS.

The car has a full broadband dual cellular router for full Wi-Fi, laptop chargers, radio chargers, a touchscreen PC running Google Earth, injections (which tracks red light cameras and all known radar traps) and trapster all to minimize the risk of getting caught. As if it weren’t enough to not get pulled over a CB radio and PA with full sirens allow you to act like a cop if need be.

This would be far more effective.

I also recall a story of an airman who used F117A paint on his truck... and used it for some time successfully before getting cought, and court marshaled.

The funny thing about not being caught in that car? The owner got arrested during Bullrun....with all of the stuff you saw there at his disposal.

There are quite a few theories about it. One is that the infrasound will keep animals like deer off the road when the car is traveling at high speeds through a wooded area. Another one is that it actually manipulates the air around the car, creating a type of bubble around it that would make all the speed detection equipment go crazy when its pointed at the R8. And the last theory is that it is actually a device used to control people. Infrasound causes anxiety, fear, nausea, the need to use the restroom (for the lack of a better term), and it would also cause your eyes to vibrate causing blurred vision. All of this would cause for anyone in front of it too pull over immediately. It is the scariest yet most likely use for it. The owner says that it is not YET under military classification. A device like this has been in development with the goal of a non-lethal way of crowd control.

It is possible to reduce the signature to the point where you will get a warning a lot sooner than you will get tagged by radar. I modified my C4 Corvette to the point where you could only see it on radar at 400 feet, which is almost on top of the emitter. (and yes we tested and verified that with a stalker) But you really can't make the car invisible. OTOH, most cops pulled the trigger on their instant on at a lot further away than 400 feet, so you generally got plenty of warning and could slow down so that they couldn't write you. I did get stopped several time by cops that thought they had me and wanted me to admit to speeding so that they could write me up. They were plenty PO'd, but the radar gun was blank and they couldn't write me up, so they ended up giving me a warning and kept me there for 15 minutes wasting my time and theirs. A lot of the stuff in that car is more for show than anything that will help him avoid getting tagged.

The "infrasonic" stuff is not going to change your radar signature. That is nonsense. I spent a good part of my career making sure that what I was doing didn't send any returns to a radar emitter, so trust me on this one.

He's probably using it as a security device. Get to close to the car with the alarm armed, and you'll shat your pants :)
