I found it odd that there is a US spec drophead coupe in Monaco with current Texas registration, what would be the point of importing a Drophead coupe from the US to Europe? http://img232.imagevenue.com/aAfkjfp01fo1i-11164/loc467/84070_03_Drophead_122_467lo.jpg
The Texas registration is @ the bottom left hand corner of the windshield or windscreen for those of you on the other side of the Atlantic
Here are two photos of the car in question: http://img232.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=84070_03_Drophead_122_467lo.jpg http://img182.imagevenue.com/img.php?image=30390_DSC01636_122_53lo.JPG
It's obviously a US model bought in the US exported back to europe, even with the current difference euro/dollar it's worth the mess. The car is sporting 2 different sets of German temporary plates which means that it was probably sent to a harbor in Germany and that the owner is probably waiting to get a perma plate in monaco or something to avoid extra tax costs (VAT i think, as it's very likely he needed to pay the custom duty to get the plates and get the car out of the customs in Germany). Satisfied?
Well, I've got a girl on a bicycle + the first page of a magazine (cinetélérevue) when I click on the link. Doesn't matter ! Michal is certainly right concerning the reason of the licence plate story. Concerning the US spec cars in MC, I see more and more of 'em here ! It's amazing ! Bentley Corniche special edition, few Ferrari, Porsche, RR etc. @Ferrarista, I think so, but I'm not sure. Probably link to the Ferrari Club France ? (We usually saw MC registred Ferrari in Ferrari Club France meetings) Because when you search for it, you can find this http://www.monacobusinessdirectory.com/annuaire/commerces-de-proximite-shopping/sport/ferrari-club-monaco.html which would mean that Ferrari Club Monaco is part of the ACM. I'll ask about it next time I'm in Monaco
Does one of our Monaco-based members know anything about this car? http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?p=138361897#post138361897
Yes i would have thought so, never looked into the Ferrari club though even though im a member of the ACM
Yes i know that car, it belongs to a very rich Russians son he has a red one too also a black Enzo, merc 300sl from the 50's, a range rover with more chrome on it than a hummer (very tacky) oh & a yacht! The 430 in question has also different exahusts on it & other little bits! I know all this as my ex girlfriend works on the yacht as a stewerdes!
Oh ok. I guess we'll join the ACM then...we'll just need to find two "sponsors" to sign our application.
excellent choice of car, they are cheap at the mo with the mess in the markets, if you ever need it detailing i am the best there is! take a look at www.swissvaxmonaco.com 13 years experience in exotic car cleaning & detailing! we can also help with the sourcing of the 599! im sure we could help you with the signatures also??!!
Thanks! Interesting car, maybe I'll run into it while I'm in Monaco for Top Marques. While you be there again this year?
Yes, relatively speaking. I wouldn't be too surprised to see them at 150K by this summer if things continue like this A good deal today may be a terrible one tomorrow... Thank you for the info. We'll certainly keep it mind Thanks When and if we get the car (knock on wood) we'll probably drop by
In what way? Locating the car? We think we might have already found the car (in Germany). We have made an offer and should get a reply in the next couple of days.
