Hi. Since I passed by a CHP the other day standing next to his car with a radar gun, so I wonder what you all fine well-behave gentleman will do if just happens to be passing him at over 120MPH:

    a) Floor it and get to the next exit as soon as possible then hide. (Assuming next exit is within 2 miles & your car can get up to 150+ quickly.)

    b) Slam on your break then move over to the slower lane & try to blend in with other traffic and pretend nothing happened. (Assuming you are not in an exotic)

    c) Pull over to the shoulder and wait for him to pick you up, or you might be lucky enough so he passes you without knowing you stopped.

    d) Just slow down without a sweat cause you have 11-99 Foundation Membership card.

What will you most likely do?

Not ask stupid "hypothetical" questions w/o even putting up a real poll in a manner designed to prove online bragadocio and foster an idiotic debate rife with immaturity.

bobafett: Was thinking about doing a poll, but don't know how to set one up. However, I did pass a CHP on the other side of the freeway going 100 then I speed up to exited & hide. Recently, I've been speeding a lot more, but luckily I passed by CHPs twice when I decided to slow down for no reason. Cause of that, I just wonder what I should do if I happen to pass one during my high speed run.

I did option A one time. It was in Georgia at night (no lights on the highway), the police was clocking me on the overpass.

I had a split second to make a decision to run, floor it and got off the next exit, turned off my lights and used engine to slow down and gradual hand brake (no brake light). I got away, but will never do it again, it was stupid dangerous.

In the early 90s I was a passenger in a car with a few friends on highway 126 (undivided) in between Valencia and Fillmore. We were coming back from a day of skiing and the friend driving the car was doing close to 100 when we passed a CHP cruiser going the opposite way. We saw the officer's brake lights come on and my friend unwisely decided to take off down a side road off of the 126. He made a couple of turns and turned off the lights figuring the officer wouldn't see us. He did. And to make a long story short, my friend ended up leaving with the CHP officer that night.

    Not a good move.

But if the officer had been an attractive female wouldn't it have been a good move?

Pull over and wait 4 him. I did it and got just a warning. One time @ Cryutal cove, After a Sat. meet, I was pulling out in the GTO. All the photographers were on the corner with Camers. I decided to show off. At the stop sight I made a right, punched it ant TOTALLY got sideways. WELL, a cop was parked on the otherside that I did not see. So I just pulled over and waited. He asked me "what was that". I told him the truth. It was Pure Stupidity. No excuse. He questioned me then let me go. Thank god!

In my experience on 880 and 101 in the Bay Area, when a CHP is inside his car while running radar, *he* is the one who will pursue. When he is standing next to his car, it's the 2-3 cruisers 1/4 mile down the road you'll have to contend with. That said, neither "a" nor "b" from your options above will work, IMO.
