To tell or not to tell?

Thanks for the responses...I will add this this has been a HARD decision for me to post...yes I am not perfect either and have made mistakes that I think I have corrected in the right way...and I learn from this and other transactions each day..!! I KNEW the JOSH car would be brought up...but I am also grown up enough to take it and deal with everything...

I have said in the past and will say again after this that CARFAX means CRAP...I found through this investigation that CARFAX which is a FOR PROFIT company WILL make changes if documents are given to them by an AUTHORIZED PAYING DEALER MEMBER...even it is as thin as

"No, it does not have a salvaged TITLE NOW!! it has a clean and clear title out of our washed state via Arizona to California...I think AT the very least Carfax SHOULD leave ALL posts on the car and make notations for looking customers to dig further...

Of course I cant cry here and say I used CARFAX 100% in my decision....to the oppisite, when I was advised of the "notation" WE point blank asked the Dealer B, hoping there was a honest trust factor here...DID THIS HAVE ANY ACCIDENTS, PAINT OR SALVAGED TITLE>..

answer NO NO CLEAR CALIFORNIA TITLE.. and to latter find out they held the truth from us...stating IT HAD A CLEAR AND CLEAN CALIFORNIA TITLE IS JUST WRONG.

I want to make it clear that this thread was NOT started to OUST or display Dealer B...however I have no second thoughts of posting the CHP-DMV report as well AS THEIR past investigative reports by the Dept once ours is complete and final and of Public Record...an independant source so to say that HAS no intrest in the oucome either way, other than to enforce the Law for Licensed Dealers...

This thread was started to show ALL that this stuff even HAPPENS to a Dealer such as my self....and the question of

"to tell or not to tell" is more a question of what are our moralitys out there today....I THINK you can still make a good living and stick around with your fellow man by not going the route of..."BUYER BEWARE" game...put it all out there and let a buyer decide what to do..

I can also add that this car,IF IT HAD BEEN properly advised and ADVERTISED is still a saleable car with a "salvaged title" but not at a NO STORIE PRESTINE car price..I would estimate this car to still be in the 80 to 100K value...

Some of you may recall the Black Diablo 2001 I sold a while back for $106K...CLEAR title BUT IT did have accident history, paint and non OEM parts...but it was a strong running car...and it sold for what the market said it was worth even with me disclosing all the negatives about it...and the current owner could not be happier with it....there is some one for every thing out there...

Lets just make sure they know what they are getting for their hard earned money...

Thanks again and YES, I have now even more security stops in place...I just wish it did not have to sink to this level of mis-trust of the whole world..

Dealer C, no longer according to them after this, has anything to do with Dealer B and wish they never had...and has stated both for me and the DMV-CHP investigators as well as will in court, that Dealer B had FULL KNOWLEDGE of the "salvaged title washed car" and STILL did not disclose it to Dealer A...or anyone else that was intrested in this car..

I hold no hard feelings with Dealer C as they were up front and honest...just wished we had spoken to them prior to this deal..

 

That will be psoted by the California DMV-CHP investigation not me...HOW it is posted and a good MAN UP ending or not is up to Dealer B at this time...
