The problem with many old lambos is the poor rust protection, they rust even under the gravel protection.

What do the Bertone stampings look like on a Jarama please? Are the hood, trunk and doors marked with three digits as well?
    Thanks for help

In the U.S., they can be found for significantly less.

Around four years ago, a member of the VLG, had to give his car away at 17K (the way he described it), with 60K of receipts. Somebody, got a great deal.

    Hi guys,

Remember the body panels were made at Bertone's plant but the car was assembled by Marazzi. So maybe this is because there is no formal evidence of the production no on all kind of parts as on the Espada...

Sorry if I missed it in this post, but does any one know how many of the cars came with the twin removable roof panels?

    Here are some more:

    #10312 according to the ILR

#10338 was mentioned as dual sunroof when auctioned in 1993

#10340 or #10346 was for sale in the USA in 2000 and described as 1 of 50 Jarama with dual sunroof

Remarkable to see that all these cars are late Jarama GT, except for #10576 for which I never saw a picture ...

Thanks Olivier, I would expect maybe crayon marked interior panels on Jarama when viewing the back of an original panel. Can you confirm if this true? any photos?

Did Bertone supply unpainted Jarama sheet metal and chassis to Marazzi? Or finished, painted bodies?

    Thanks for any help

It was mentioned in the add, no idea where the seller got that information from. But imo he had an even more exclusive car then he thought! I estimate the number of Jarama with dual sunroof at maximum 15.

Graig, I've spent some time yesterday eve dismantling some interior panels without success : NO number...on reverse side.

Bertone supplied pressings done at Grugliasco factory to Marazzi who built shells & bodies, then only they went for paintjob !!!

The Jarama GT you mentionned is #10346 with "senape" interior and not #10340 which has a black interior.

    Also here is the production list of the only 20x sunroof Jarama : 10310, 10312, 10314, 10316, 10318, 10320, 10322, 10324, 10326, 10328, 10330, 10332, 10334, 10336, 10338, 10340, 10342, 10344, 10346, 10348.

My source is sure at 100%.

About #10576, I need to look at my notes, because it was mentionned as "tetto apribile" or sunroof in a specific Lambo book, but not in the production list. Is #10576 the 21st not recorded ???

    10310 - 10332, 10336 - 10340 and 10344 - 10348 were delivered to the U.S.A. while 10334 went to Germany and 10342 remained in Italy.

10350 is the VIN of the Jarama RS by Bob Wallace. 10352 is the first Jarama S VIN carried by a Blu Tahiti / Bianco car which probably is the car from the Jarama S factory brochure.

Thanks Olivier, This confirms the speculations that the late Jarama GT were sunroof models.

I once saw a bronze color sunroof Jarama in a Mercedes junk yard in Los Angeles. This was about twenty years ago and the car was completely gutted and stacked on top of two other lesser cars (at least it was on top!!). The thing that was most disturbing was the engine/transmission was sitting on the ground all corroded and rusted. They had not bothered to plug any of the numerous holes. And yet there was a giant warehouse for indoor storage of Mercedes, Ferrari and Porsche parts not even 25 feet away!!

If I ever get back to that ugly area in LA, I will stop in and see if it's still there and get the chassis number if it is.

    Cheers,
    Paul

Olivier, thank you for looking into this numbering. If Marazzi finished the metal and fitted panels, then the Bertone number system most likely will not be found.
    Thanks for checking your panels.
