    Hi

    Just picked her up.

Initial impressions are its a cool car. Everything works well, Sat Nav and Audio interface is very good. Roof practical. Drive good. Sound very good.

Overall good all rounder. Elegant but not Brutal in any way. Not the kind of car you will get out of and soy wow that was great. Maybe being unfair as normally in a 599 or in at least a 12 cylinders so comparisons are not realistic.

Compared to my SL63, Merc sounds better, drives better and is more practical in majority of areas, looks well thats another story!!

Will post pics as soon as I get a few mins.

    Mike

Yes the SL63 sounds better without doubt, the V8 rumble is much more pronounced.

Thinking about it more, the drive is exciting all the time in the SL63, the power seems to be on tap more easily. With the California you have to engage it and be in the mood to drive and be harder with it to get the excitement.

The drive once you are in the mood is fabulous and on reflection and as I get used to it probably better, however you have to be in the mood whilst the merc in the mood or not it is always tempting you.

    Regards

    Mike

Yes, Mike "bops" is the real deal.

Congratulations on the new California. With your comparion to the SL63 you may have confirmed about the California what many here had feared. Regardless, enjoy the new ride.

Welcome back Mike and congrats on the Cali.

I think your comments confirm what many of us have thought even without driving the Cali. Chicks will love it (my wife is still begging for one) but it lacks a certain 'something' to mix it with the likes of an SL63, or even a Vantage for that matter. Looking forward to seeing the pics (oh & whilst you're at it, did you ever post pics of your Veyron?).

Well, looks like he's driving on the right side of the pavement, so it can't be GB or Australia. Any other guesses, since that's what we're left to do? ;)

Thanks for the nice pictures! Lovely color? What shade is it?

Does the light colored dash cast reflections on the windsheild?

Since you had more time to drive the Cali, have any of your early opinions comparing it the Merc changed? Sporty driving, handling, etc.

I was surprised that you felt the Merc was more practical.
