I searched the archives but no joy for a thread that discusses the above.

Please also chime in on what areas of the 575 should be protected. Gary Bobileff suggested that I use ModernImage in San Diego if I wanted to go ahead with it.

    Thanks!

I just my 575 back yesterday from having a clearbra installed. The bumper was covered with the exception of the black on the bottom. The lower part of the hood was done as was the scoop. The mirrors and the door edges were also done. I have a red car and I think the clearbra works well with the color. The installer spent a lot of time working on it and did a great job. I'm in the Philadelphia area. The job cost me $975 plus tax.

My 328 had the 3M film on it when I purchased it a few years ago. It was installed about 5 years earlier, so it had been on the car for about 7 years. While a very good job, I just did not like the look. Last summer I removed the film, had the car detailed and the paint is much brighter. I guess in the end I would rather deal with the occasional chip than the yellowed film.

There are NO pros in my opinion.

It costs you $1000 to get it done and you are left with clear bra all over your car. Doesn't look good IMO. The clear bra chips and dents too.

For that $1000, have your car resprayed every other year. The money you save on the clear bra can get you a 3 resprays (6 years worth). And, after 6 years, I bet the clear bra will look like crap anyway (either yellow or all beat up).
