I've seen that car before. IMO, it's most likely the only decently built "fake".

No shots of the front. Don't know if it's a coincidence or not as that area is usually the most off. Anyone care the share any details on the car?

Wow that puppy is fast. Much faster than a real one. This looks like a qreat Kit. It's components are top quality:

Twin plate ‘Rally Spec’ Tilton racing clutch
Quaife Six speed Sequential transaxle gearbox

It also has traction control. Definitely worth the asking price.

i remember reading their old side, or maybe a different one, had the entire build on it. if i remember correctly the panels were real and were replacements for a crashed f40. thye were sitting at a dealer. he bought them or got moulds of them.
only thing that looks a bit out is the front bonnet looks a bit long. otherwise an amazing machine!!!!

As of today's exchange rate, $125000 NZ dollars is $63,754 USD. So given the performance/fun/sophistication factor, it is reasonable. Harder question is to find the right buyer in this market. Tough to say...

Agree. Cool looking car. If I am planning to use a car hard, I am not at all adverse to a very high spec fake. Fun factor is huge, no need to retain originality and ability to personalise is endless. I am very frustrated with Classiche

Are you sure that those are the same replica F40s? There seems to be quite a few differences between the cars:

The F40 Motorsport one is an LM replica whereas the Trademe one isn't. They have different seats, dashes and gauge clusters too. The motorsport one is Turbo-charged and the Trademe one is supercharged etc

I've seen the F40 Motorsport one at a motorshow when it was in the VDO Dayton livery. It looked very impressive for a replica.

If anyone wants me to check out the one on Trademe I'd be happy to take it for a test drive on your behalf :D

Yes it would be much faster than a real one. It would also brake a lot quicker. If you do see one don't tail gate it in a real one.

Also don't challenge it to a drag race in your Enzo.

Hell yeah. I can tell it's a fake from the shots. It's the best I've seen, but a fake is a fake.
