True, but there is something fishy about that car IMO. It says 7k miles, or thereabouts. That interior looks more like 37k miles - torn seat, stretched dash, wheel cover bubbling, etc.

They just lowered their ask to $73k and it's been on the market for months. I have no idea about the particulars beyond what I see in the shots, (status on services, records, # owners, US or Euro, etc etc) but I'd say that $73k is probably not below market right now; perhaps even a little high for that car.

I like that look! You don't have a picture of the side and/or the back of that 575 do you?

Darth- Very attractive in that light silver. Sort of like the 60s Corvette Sebring Silver.

Thanks Darth. That's a slick 575. Are you the proud owner?

No. That was an Axl Rose car with the color keyed lower section all around, like 550 in this thread.

    Ketel, It's true! :):):)

Neither car is worth more than $85k max IMHO.

Is it just me? because I hear people complaining about a 550 price at $99,000 being too much!!! Gawd man, this low production car is an icon which will live somewhat in the relm of the 250 GTO. The rocket like performance and handling and minimal problems of this super car makes it a "must have". To think differently will catch you in that moment of "why didn't I when I could have?" this is the lowest this car will ever be and as soon as all this economy crap straightens out the price will go ballistic. Remember I told you so and did you a favor by doing such. All for now and buy now!

+2!!! Could not agree with you more. After driving my 550 for a little while I would have gladly paid MORE for the darn thing!

I don´t think the adjective `ballistic` is quite right in terms of their future appreciation, but I certainly agree with the underlying thought of your post, Gary. They´re awesome cars - never will regret the day I bought one.

I don't tink anyone has put more miles on a 550 than I have, either in a single car or cumulatively, so I'm very biased in liking the car. That being said, I don't see these things as actually appreciating, let alone becoming a classic in the sense we think o fthem. If they do, it's a long, LONG road til that time.

Buy it, enjoy it. That's all that counts. Whether it's 70, or 370.

I bought my 97' 550 last March for $80K w/ 15700 miles and the 30K service done; silver w/ black interior. It is a dream to own and I drive like I stole it.....but I didn't buy it as an investment, I bought it to drive and hopefully not see any really serious depreciation to a price below about $50K over the next 4-5 years. Am considering a track day car now, and would like a Ferrari but am still wondering what makes sense.
