I stopped looking at my humidor for a while. The gauge is at 30% and I haven't taken the lid off it. Can cigars be revived by introducing moisture back into the humidor or did they all just dry out? I was thinking about running my steamer in the humidor and then putting the cigars back in. It lost moisture because I forgot to refill the humidifier.

Definately do not toss them. Then can be revived by humidifing them again.

If you want a more "set it an forget it approach" you can use these: http://www.bovedapacks.com/

They will always maintain the proper humidity and if you have a good humidor they last a very long time. I have several Daniel Marshalls and easily get 5 months out of mine. Not bad for $4 a pack.

Obviously, M Roadster doesn't know what he's talking about.

Send them all to me and I will dispose of them properly.

I should have made this a poll. Seems like 50% are saying don't toss them and 50% are saying send them to a better home. Hmmm. I think I need to get the wood of my humidor wet. I am going to try using my fabric steamer on the walls first.

If your humidor is already seasoned I'm not sure why you would want to do this....

Definately do not over saturate them with water... Slow re-hydration is what you want....

Try this instead... Though I am not sure how many cigars we are talking about here but...

Put them in a ziplock with Boveda packs @ 75% will work best...

If you don't want to get the packs them but the zip lock bag with the cigars in them; left "open" in a larger ziplock with a wet towel or sponge and zip it. Let them sit for a few days and check them. If you go this route check them every day for mold. If there is any mold you will have to toss the lot... is why I would use the packs instead.

I just put distilled water into the humidifiers in there and I am letting it come up slowly. I am guessing it will take a month to get back up and for everything to absorb it. I don't expect there to be any mold if I bring it up slowly.
