I was just loading the 3 sets of wheels into the coach.......and then I noticed (it's about time) that one set of wheels is metric 415's. I was going to have these redone in satin black........but now...........why should I if they can only be shoud with metric tires.

So..........if they won't accept 16" tires and those I hear are hard to find and expensive............

Should I just get them restored to OEM silver? Is there a market for these wheels..........I am wondering if I should even invest in them. Restoration alone will be $700, and then I have my initial purchase price to add in. Any response, very quickly will be appreciated.........I'm departing at 12 midnite tonite (sunday 2/8/09)............I'd rather not take them if it is a loser project economically. I can't believe I over looked this!!!! Kerry

Yeah, I'd bet 16" rubber would fit on a TRX wheel just fine...for about the first 200 yards you
    drive the car.

TRX is a dead end, better to go with a 16" wheel and offsets, if needed.

All jokes aside. The answer is NO.
The 415s are actually 16.34 " in dia.

Unfortunately, incompatible in both directions (16" tires don't fit 415mm wheels and 415mm tires don't fit 16" wheels).

I wouldn't invest anything more into them (although, if they are single-lug wheels, the steel spline piece might have value if it is the same as the 16" wheels spline piece). A case of oversupply meets no demand IMO. If they are 5-lug 415mm wheels, you'll be lucky to even get enough $ to cover the shipping charges -- if you can ever find a euro concorse-conscious buyer.

Thanks Steve, I was afraid of this. My oversight though..........Yeah, since I posted in a panic I measured everything up, TRX tires, 16" tires, TRX wheels, 16" wheels....and it was quite evident that the answer was a big NO.....Thanks again for saving me some cash and frustration......Kerry

I agree...the splined hubs, and trim rings if you have them, are worth some bucks. Too bad you cant machine the metric wheels down so that 16 inch rubber can be mounted, but I think too much material would have to be shaved off....about 3/16 of an inch thickness or so....reducing the safety factor too.

FYI, Not to offend, but Google can help avoid the dumb question factor. There are many conversion websites. Hey there is an idea for a sticky thread under technical helpful websites for info.

First thing I did....www.worldwidemetric.com/metcal.htm .....go and convert metric to inches..........disappointment................so as a last breath before succumbing, I thought ask the FChat community....... there might at least be a market for these useless $500 of srap metal...NOT...live and learn!!!

I have a set of the 390mm w/ TRX tires and they are probably only good for a concours. Metric rims were not one of Ferraris best ideas :-(.

If you want to keep and paint the stock wheels, you will need to get new TRX tires...try www.coker.com . The way most of us drive our Ferraris for weekend fun, TRX tires are just fine and using TRX wheels and tires will keep your car looking great. While they're a little pricey, they will likely need to be replaced in the future due to age rather than mileage...

Yeah I'm aware of Coker, thank you though for bringing up. I just find it hard to swallow that I'll have $1200 into the wheels and another $1900 into tires for a total of $3100.............I could spend the money elsewhere for sure.

Kerry....clean the wheels up nice, and make cool cocktail tables out of them with some nice thick glass sitting right on the rubber.
