My fathers 97 - 355GTS is going in for it's next major. I'm looking over the past repair history to see if maybe anything was missed that we should address this round.

First thing I noticed is no water pump - so I'm thinking that should be on the next menu. Also the clutch cost - $476.72? Seams cheap, am I missing something here?

Yep. The clutch used to be extremely inexpensive. Your receipts are 5 years old however, and true to Ferrari, the price has jacked about a zillion times. On a brighter note, there's no reason to replace the clutch unless it is excessively worn. Honestly, unless its slipping or something is fricked with the TO bearing, I'd leave it alone. There's no incentive to do the clutch during a major, because its completely independent of the 'pulling the engine' kind of labor.

    For a start....

Use Hill Engineering Tensioner Bearings from Ricambi
Rebuild the alternator, as per http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=124504&highlight=transpo
Replace all coolant hoses with those from Dave Helms and Ricambi silicone.
Replace gas hoses and filler neck with those from Dave Helms.
Replace electrical connectors with the kit from Dave Helms.
    Replace plug wires.
    Check motor/drivetrain mounts.
Replace oil pump drive chain and check tensioner system.

I see - now the 355 clutch is in the same price catagory with my 81 - 928. I'm sure the 355 is a better unit.

Less than 10,000 miles on the "new" clutch. My father is nice to his equipment so that should last a while.

Excellent - thanks! I'm just trying to get all my ducks lined up for this job.

Nothing really out of the ordinary, yet ;) - except for the alternator rebuild, I must have missed other threads on that. Looks straight forward though.
