If we'd simply decriminalize the activity it'd be a non issue. I'll tell you; I thought with all my heart that when "our' generation got into power the first thing to go would be the pot laws. Never happened.
That could be said about any illegal activity. Why can't the freeways be unlimited speed from 2 AM-4AM? Decriminalize that please.
Dr. Spock, Comparing apples to oranges is "Not Logical. Duh, speeding in a car can kill you, POT smoking can't. "Pot Smoking Not Linked to Lung Cancer" Study Shows No Increased Risk for Even the Heaviest Marijuana Smokers By Salynn Boyles, WebMD Health News Reviewed by Louise Chang, MD May 23, 2006 -- People who smoke marijuana do not appear to be at increased risk for developing lung cancerlung cancer, new research suggests. While a clear increase in cancer, or cancer risk, was seen among cigarette smokers in the study, no such association was seen for regular cannabis users. While two-pack-a-day or more cigarette smokers were found to have a 20-fold increase in lung cancer risk, no elevation in risk was seen for even the very heaviest marijuana smokers.-- "I didn't inhale." Edwardo,
Walking across the street can kill you, I'm sure hundreds of people die each year crossing the street... Everything is dangerous nowadays. Smoking pot causes problems with memory, times of anxiety, paranoia, increased heart rate, enlarged bronchials, blood vessels in the eyes expanding etc. Most of these are temporary and not reoccurring naturally but breathing in smoke is clearly a bad idea and pot being laced with what it is is just risky unless you grow your own. I'm also fairly sure most deaths related to pot are from driving collisions. So if drinking gets a bad wrap from all the DUI's, MADD, the Government, local groups of parents etc just won't let it happen full bore.
I think few of us that are for legalization of pot would suggest that driving under the influence of ANY drug should be legal! Of course driving high should be illegal! It would endanger others. Smoking pot in one's own home should not be illegal.
HISTORY FACTS *Hemp has been grown for at least the last 12,000 years for fiber (textiles and paper) and food. It has been effectively prohibited in the United States since the 1950s. *George Washington and Thomas Jefferson both grew hemp. Ben Franklin owned a mill that made hemp paper. Jefferson drafted the Declaration of Independence on hemp paper. * George Washington may well have cultivated some cannabis for medicinal and occasional recreational purposes. Both he and Thomas Jefferson (who quite disliked tobacco) are known to have exchanged gifts of smoking mixtures. In the 1790's, Washington also began to cultivate "India Hemp", the resinous variety developed in India. Cannabis at that time had several names, such as "common hemp" (C. sativa, cultivated for fiber and seeds), and "India hemp" (C. indica, grown for fiber and resin). * Hemp is now grown in Canada Eah..
I've been trying to come up with something interesting or worthwhile to say. But I'm just too high!! Got to go eat.
Gees. Take it for face worth. He is young, partied, got caught by cell cam, & will pay. He is still an Olympic hero. Get over it.
He should have used a Volcano Vaporizer instead of the bong. It's a much healthier way to get the desired effect.
