Diesels are nice but there's no way i'm paying $275 for them. They had them at the Diesel outlet the other day for $125 but i didn't like the wash so i passed. They told me to come back in a few weeks and they'd have more selection

Whn the gold rush, a man called Mr Levy-Strauss (later, became the brand Levi's) used a traditional textile from South of France, the "toîle De Nîmes" that gave the name "Denim", and had the idea to taint it in "Blue from Gênes" (name of the city in French cause all the products came indeed from France) (Gênes = Genoa in Italian, the large city on the Mediterranean sea in the North of Italy).

And "Gênes" pronounced by the pioneers or the Gold Rushers became "Jeans".

Now we all know the origin of Jeans Denim !!!

    Have a nice week !!!

I didnt read all of the comments, but I think I win hands down on smart shopping. In Florida I shop at TJ Maxx in the clearance department about twice a month.

Yesterday I bought 4 pairs of jeans.
    2 pairs of Lucky(retail $90) for $12 each.
    Polo Jeans(retail $160) for $15.
    DKNY (retail $80) for $10.

    I also got
Christian Audigiere shirt (retail ~$180) for $10.
    DKNY shirt (?retail) for $5
Burberry polo for $20 (hurt me lol)

All together, with tax under 100 bucks..

However, having said all that. the first time I was shopping for "the club" I spent $180 on a Christian Audigiere(sp?) shirt and another $160 on Diesel Jeans cause I thought it would help me get laid, biggest waste of money but its a funny memory.

What's the most you've ever spent on a pair of jeans?

30 bucks, Levi's. I have a massive walk in closet that is full of crap I will never wear. I am mostly in sweatpants and a T-shirt or shorts sandals and a t-shirt. I like the Nautica stuff with the little boat on it and Polo makes some good stuff too. I like the polo hats with the leather adjustable straps on the back.

I don't know, my brother just sends me and the family Rock & Republic jeans since we works there, nothing like cutting the grass in $300 jeans. But I do know the girls go crazy over my son at school with all the Rock stuff he has.

I thought about this thread while I was in vegas recently. I felt like I was getting hosed on a pair of dolce jeans, but I live in texas and we don't have a dolce store like the forum shops so I ended up spending almost $1200 on 2 jeans there after tax. so about $580 each. The salesman kept telling me he had every pair I was liking and I was just laughing inside thinking there was no way this guy owned a pair of these. They had a couple pairs topping $1800 a piece though, that's just too much in my book for jeans.

How do Diesel's run? I'm about a 33 waist and looking on ebay but i'm worried about getting them and having them be too tight. I like having a loose waist and not having it too tight. I remember when i tried them on at the store they were tight but i can't remember what size i tried on. Doh. I'm thinking of getting 34 waist and if they are too loose, i'll get the waist hemmed too. I'd rather have them too big than too small

Length is not an issue cause i can get them hemmed (i'm about to go and get my TR's hemmed for the 3rd time...)

    What about Rock & Republics?

Maybe i'll just head down to the outlets and try them on myself. Their lack of selection annoys me though

Ordered a pair of Average Joe Dry Selvage from Cultizm.com. Took 1 day to get here from Germany!

Hands down the best fitting, nicest pair of jeans I've ever owned.

    Depends on your size/body type.

I have yet to find a pair of Rocks that I can fit in... the legs are just too narrow - I'm 6', ~195 (lean). I usually wear a 32 waist and even when I tried up to a 36, I couldn't squeeze into several styles of the Rocks. My GF has several pairs and she's happy with the quality at least.

Diesels are the same way, there are only a few styles that I fit comfortably in. On thing I've noticed is most Diesels seem to have a 'high crotch'... make sure you sit down when trying on any jeans, as standing and walking around the store won't reveal this little pain in the a**, er, well, you know...

I'd suggest going back to the store and trying on as many pairs as it takes to find something you like... then go to ebay!

I should also mention that every pair of Diesels I've retired because I develop a hole in the crotch area... and these are the ones that passed the 'sit test'.

I have one pair left and once they develop this hole (which I can see is starting) I will likely not buy any more.
