As long as I don't see them on sale at Target, I'm happy.

    Nice photo!

I just emailed the restaurant to see if they sell the dishes! They
sell a lot of other stuff - wine, vinegar, and such. But they don't show
    the plates.

I'll post back here if I hear back from them.... hopefully they not only
sell them but have a good stock!

It would be fun to have a set for a Ferrari-themed Italian dinner!!

I love gnocchi. Has been only three days since I last had it. We serve it with butter only, with pesto, and with tomato or marinara sauce. We also use it with German rolladens and gravy instead of spaetzle.

When my family and I visited italy in 1983, we already loved gnocchi. The USO helped us find hotels in Naples and on the Isle of Capris. When I told the sweet young American girl who was helping us we were looking forward to some gnocchi, her eyes got as big as dinner plates. She thought I said nookie. I had to write it out on a piece of paper before her breathing returned to normal. My wife thought that was one of the funniest exchanges she had ever heard.

My wife makes them from scratch all the time. They along with other Italian dishes were passed down generations as was the sauce from Scilicy.

You got that right!! Sicilia, gnocchi con pesto, fatto con basilico fresco d'el giardino!!!!!!!

Made any other way, is an abomination. BUT, be warned, fellow chatters, the Genovese claim to have the best, most original recipe for pesto sauce in Italy. Together with Colombus's home town fame, they can boast........

Just wondering why everyone orders gnocchi when they go to Cavallino - is it purported to be Enzo's favourite?

Nice plate! Gnocci looks fab. I prefer red sauce over pesto on that dish.

So I got a reply from the restaurant from which that beautiful plate comes. I used
the Babelfish translator (www.altavista.com) to translate my very simply worded
request into Italian (followed by a reverse translation to English just to make sure
it's close - Babelfish is usually pretty good with Italian). So far so good.

I attached the OP's picture of the gnocci on the plate to show them what plate I
    was talking about.

But the email reply came from their CATERING department, and basically says
Sorry, but we do not sell food via email correspondence!!!! Apparently someone
there thought I was asking to buy 4 plates of GNOCCI - not 4 PLATES!!

I wrote back to clarify, but alas they do not sell just the plates either. Oh well :(
