The more I delve into this matter the more confused I get. The misscaptioned color photo I referred to said Kessler drove a 500 TR at the Lime Rock USAC race. The Telio member said it was in fact an 860 Monza, 802M. He sent me this photo of the same car at Watkins Glen with Grossman aboard, but I have not been able to fully document the race. Note the same tape on the nose. Now I find Racing Sports Cars without a photo of the car to support it that says it was a 315 S at Lime Rock and an 860 Monza at the Formula Libre race at the Glen (not the race shown with Grossman up), but as GIOTTO pointed out, the latter clearly appears to be a 315 S. It appears sources copy each other's data without double checking. I depend you experts to straighten me out. Gil Image Unavailable, Please Login
I've really enjoyed the photos, great stuff. I thought all of you would enjoy this story that appeared in www.sportscardigest.com yesterday. It's about the 1967 24 Hours of Daytona and Ferrari took 1st, 2nd and 3rd that year, promting the "Daytona" moniker for their upcoming streetcar. Enjoy! http://www.sportscardigest.com/archives/2978 Looking forward to more photos!
Thanks for sharing the link. Some super little photos in there. I've forwarded it to David Piper (as he is in the featured photo).
First I hope it is not a re post, but I've found a nice selection of old Ferraris on this website http://www.monnay-racing.ch/LM/LAMEUTE.htm Most of the cars are swiss, there is each time the reference to the driver, I am sure you will immediately find the chassis number! I don't know why I can't post direct links but you should be able to click on the link and see the picture. 250 Daytona 750 Monza 212 166 195

En francais, in english? The picture are under the 1955 season, http://www.monnay-racing.ch/LM/saison1955.htm Maybe the best thing to do is to contact Mr Monnay who did the website http://www.monnay-racing.ch/Contact.htm He seems to be more interested in the history than the official La Meute team I've found on Barchetta for 1955 http://www.barchetta.cc/english/all.ferraris/detail/0158ed.212e.htm 55/jul/17 ___ Aosta-Gran San Bernardo hillclimb
I found three pictures of the 330GT which was the pace car / marshal´s car at Le Mans 1966. Any informations (S/N, history, pictures, colour) of this Ferrari 330 gt are welcome! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Please, Sire Bruno de Losckley, can you confirm? On the site http://www.classicscars.com/wspr/results/wscc/ms1963.html it is written that the Piper's GTO had the #43 in that race. On the contrary on the site www.barchetta.cc it is written that the number was #8 (there is also written that there is a pic on Pourret GTO book at page 171 but in the italian version there are no pics) Thank you Renato
According to Pourret #3767GT at Spa was with #8. Also the German photosite only shows historic photos from the Nürburgring and Spa. There is a full page photo in the french Pourret book on page 171, this photo is missing in the italian and english versions.
yes, Piper had the n°8 at Spa. I asked whether the picph were taken with Spa oui, c'est sûr lors des 500 kms de Spa, Piper avait bien la n°8 je demandais si cette photo avait été prise à Spa.
At Spa,sometimes,n° where not the same for practice and for race. L'organisateur ne voulait pas que les journaux puissent publier des listes d'engagés avec les numeros pour concurrencer la vente de ses programmes.
Part 2 of Sports Car Digest's photo feature on the 1967 24 Hours of Daytona is now online: http://www.sportscardigest.com/archives/3177
Fantastic photos with fabulous cars, especially the Chaparral. The blue LM is #5895. Hope there are more to come.
