I wonder if every time scud has a 'moment', and at Bathurst I'll bet he has a few, that he wishes he'd never said that he'd laugh if *I* stuck it in!

Sorry, PP. He shouldn't have ever said that but if you even cross his mind while pushing that car round the mountain he deserves to come last.

    Cup car boo boo, maybe.

Crass insensitivity and ill will gets a proportionate karmic response. Not an OTT one, no matter it might seem matched.

    Hi Mick,

I was raised on a love of those fabulous scenes from Le Mans – that magic period of the 50’ and 60’s in the “Motor” and “Autocar” magazines of the time and of course Brockbank, - with all those great machines like Jaguar, Ferrari, Maserati, Healey, Lister Knobbly, Cooper Bobtail, Mercedes, Lotus, HRG, Cobra and MG, driven with panache by people like Moss, Hawthorn and Collins, not to mention our own great sports cars drivers such as Lex Davison, David Mackay, Spencer Martin and “Pete” Geoghegan.

I was vividly reminded of those childhood memories at our Celebration of Motor Sport at Mount Panorama this Easter by a few of our Regularity cars, and I felt FoSC had the opportunity to recreate that magic moment for next Easter with a whole field of those exciting sports cars and FoSC thinks we should give it go and live a little of history on our own great circuit.

Firstly – NO - we won’t race them, but we will give them special Regularities of their own, maybe a longer distance or even a special Le Mans style of start – we don’t know yet. But we intend all of them to go home happy as can be! FoSC plans to have every possible car from that era in a large Regularity field, so most important right now – we need to locate all those great cars – replicas and as many originals as possible.

This event will not require an Historic log book, firstly as it is not a race and secondly because the replicas I’ve seen are brilliant with some better than originals both in sound and beauty.

I just dream of seeing those cars negotiating Hell corner in a blast of big bore exhaust sounds - reverberating off the pit garages, a real 50’s sports car negotiating the dipper, climbing the Mountain, etc – even gridding up. Please, for a few moments of the V8’s next weekend, watch and dream of a 50’s/60’s sports car field on those famous miles of fabulous country road turned into the best road circuit in the world.

If you have or know of one of these magic cars, contact me or urge others to do so, and let’s try to build a vast field so we can all experience a shiver up the spine of magic old motors’ exhausts and blink a few times as our dream comes to reality.

    Have I sold it?

Know anyone with a car – get them to contact FoSC……..please?

    Best Regards

    Charles Jardine

The guy who came in 2nd, Nathan Carratti, is one of the instructors at the Burrows days - he's only about 22, but a damn good driver. Could be one to watch :D

    Hey Mr Dee Jay....
The car has always been painted up with Falcon Property Group on its flanks...

Interesting that Scud seems to have picked up a ride in a Falcon BF in the 12 hour
    Here

Mr Quinn is always bloody good at Bathurst in his Porsche... the GT3 Challenge regs say the 996 GT3 CCcars have to comply to the CC rules of the day.. so no fiddling... makes the blokes looking to go pro like Mr Caratti look a bit weak...

How come? (Not being facetious, really asking). Mr Caratti is only young (he's never going to make F1 or the like) and Mr Quinn has bucket loads of experience (and money, I assume). Not really sure about the differences in the Porsches they are driving either, but assume from what you are saying, that Mr Caretti's car should be faster than Mr Quinn's?

Mr Quinn's car is a 2004 996 GT3 Carrera Cup car.. its 6 seasons old... runs ABS but not sequential box

Mr Caratti's car is a 2007 997 GT3 Carrera Cup car.. its 3 seasons old... runs sequential box but no ABS... newer car, more powerful engine...better aero..

Mr Quinn is fresh from his Rally Tasmania adventures in the GT-R so would be ready to go behind the wheel... the Evo he shares with son Klark & Mr Denyer is currently 3rd on the grid for the 12hr Here

Thanks, that's where I learned the car had the time initially but it doesn't show who set it.

Am curious, as its good straight off within 15 laps for a guy recently recovering from some hard stuff.
