If anyone could check out a Ferrari in Alexandria, Virginia I would be ever so grateful & buy them a beer if/when I pick up the car. No PPI or anything intense... I just need a set of eyes to check it out before I waste a weekend flying out to be disappointed. Dealer is non responsive...

Well, if the dealer is non-responsive that should tell you something right away!

Where is the car and maybe I can swing by, not a promise, but a maybe.

Mileage is nice and low but the price seems nice and high.
Be sure to knock them down a lot especially in this market.

As a former 348 owner I can swing by there on Saturday for you. I only live a few minutes from there and it will give me something to do.

The dealer's description is full of red flags, ending with "we have very little experience with vehicles like this."

I have to think you could find a far better street example - and maybe a better track toy - without too much difficulty.

When you get a chance can you list here what is wrong. That way if someone else asks we can point them to this thread.

Jung, is this the car that you asked about a few months ago? It looks like it needs some help from the pics...prob plenty of track miles at some point in its history.

Low $30k range for this one including the Playstation steering wheel and Dubs.

I owned a 348 & know the model well. I ain't scared... I just want to know *exactly* what is wrong. I could care less that the car has been modified. Yes, the steering wheel will have to go, but the wheels are nice.

I would appreciate that more than you know.

Here is just the major stuff...

    Was a dedicated track car
Needs Major Service and more (does not run right at all)
    Clutch is bad
Both doors have cracks around the strakes
Leaky aftermarket fuel cell (strong gas smell in cabin)
No factory gas tank (so gas gauge does not work)
    Eratic gauges
    Slow Down lights
Electical issues (random stalling, climate control, windows, lighting, etc.)
    Broken pass. side mirror housing
    Bent wheel
Ebrake does not work (at all)
    Cracked Exhaust
Broken interior door panel and missing trim
Had an aftermarket roll cage (that was removed sloppily)
Steering wheel is wayyyy crooked (i think it's alignment related because the turn signal is messed up too)
    Brakes are shot
Aftermarket stereo does not work properly
and many other things that I don't remember right now

Yep. Looking at another yellow car now. Have a 2nd appt today. :D

wingfeather, regardless of what you do with the yellow car...

Are you specifically looking for a project 348? I might know of another one in the area.

Are you thinking of the yellow 355 Challenge car that rolled at Summit, I believe at an FoW event, a few years back? That one was repaired.

    Was a 348. Back in 2007.
The roll, which happened after going off in turn 9, damaged all 4 corners of the car.

Totaled for sure. That thing is probably sitting at Specialized Italian right now, waiting to sell the interior for $20,000...
