Whats the greatest Con!

I hate to use a quote from a book (and a film), but dammit, other than religion (which I definitely agree with), our entire lives in this culture is the biggest con.



Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy **** we don't need.






Why do we do any of this? Why the hell do I go to work everyday? Are most of us actually making any real contribution to the world?

Maybe the biggest con is the idea of human superiority over the rest of the life forms on Earth.

 

Public Sector/Government jobs.

 

For me, it's a toss up between organised religion and terrorism.

 

For me it was logging onto fchat oz section and not finding any ferrari content.........I'm used to it now.

Belief without evidence (faith) and then being 'conned' by society in general that this is a great virtue to have, which of course leads to terrible things, and it's not just religion.

 

Find the net like any relationship. I get what I put in.

Very well said! Mind you, religion is the excuse used by many to justify their actions

 

IMO the biggest con is within everyone and that is each person feels what they believe to be is best for everyone and not just for themselves.

 

I'm 100% with you on the religion idea, but just at present I'd say lots of folk would agree with "financial adviser" being the biggest con of the lot!
