sorry, was not meant as an insult. just not able to drive a rhd-car, so that example is unfortunately not on my list. regards-e
Jim, do you mean Adrian, as iirc Duncan Hamilton has been dead for some yrs now or are you talking bout back in the day ?
Fantastic car and one of the best and most fair sellers in the industry. The price is spot on for such a car in the UK as it is discounted due to being LHD in a part of the world that favors RHD! My FIA/GT 1275S Mini Cooper that I race in Europe was sourced through Adrian's business. It too was discounted to an extremely fair price as a result of being LHD. If you understand the logistics of vehicle movement, export, import and registration from one part of the world to another, there can be some real bargains. A word of caution however, make sure you perform a full inspections and understand the full cost and expense of shipping taxes and registration on a vehicle purchased overseas before you complete any transaction. Cheers, Bill
This is symptomatic of our very weak pound at the moment. A lot of cars are leaving UK shores at bargain prices, but then I suppose a lot of them came here when it was $2- £1.
Hm, I have to alert a friend. Daytona's are very thin on the ground here, and LHD is out of the question as an import. This car might fit his bill perfectly.
There are quite a few Daytona's for sale in the UK at the moment. Asking prices between 125 and 160k. Try Pistonheads for instance. Onno
Well, I haven't - bought a RHD UK boxer 6 months ago that might disappear to Dutch shores. Still on UK plates for the foreseeable future, though. The one advantage you have is you're the only ones in Europe that have RHD so it's quite likely to return even if it leaves. I know of a RHD Boxer that was in Holland for a couple of years and that has been back in the UK for years. Onno
Onno- Any real-world issues for you driving an RHD car in an LHD world? (overtaking issues come to mind most obviously) esp. on 2 lane roads....anything else not so obvious to me? Tritone
I think a rhd car in a lhd country makes the car even more exotic. I would love to have a rhd Boxer. For the 2-5k miles per year I drive it, the rhd would be no problem whatsoever...
Hi Tritone, for a car that is as exotic as a 365 Boxer, I have no issues with it as I only use the car occasionally. It has to be said that I've got at least as much experience driving RHD as LHD, having lived in the UK and South Africa, so that helps. At the moment, the car is meant to stay in the UK, but I will be using it a lot on mainland Europe. Upcoming June I'm taking her to the Alps, and the overtaking issue will be slightly irritating on mountain roads if you're stuck behind a truck going uphill. The only other issue is toll booths and parking tickets - if I'm on my own I have to get out and walk around the car. Onno
I used to drive a LHD DeLorean in RHD London UK. After about 2 days you dont even notice you are on the wrong side. Also, overtaking is less of an issue in a Ferrari - hard in DeLorean due to lack of pick up.
Anamera is a reputable site but who knows? It's strange to have a LH car in AUS. If you're interested in finding out post is AUS section of FCHAT. Someone there will be able to check out NZ seller and determine if it's real.
Fairly certain it's a scam. http://www.classifiedads.com/classic_cars_antiques-ad1359398.htm Same car is for sale here in Indonesia
