In honor of my car clicking over 70K today I decided to get some shots of her with another 80s icon! (Thanks to John K. at NASA) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Oh man. I have gullwing envy, and WILL get one of those someday (5-speed, black interior) Great shots, thanks.
Nice shot Joe and a very late "Thank You" for meeting up with me several months ago so I could hear your new muffler.
NP Walt. Make sure you give us a heads up next time you are in town and the SSC will be sure to do some type of get-together.
Thanks for the photos! The DeLorean is on my "going to buy" list, after the (Giugiaro) Lotus Esprit. Obviously I'll stick to a silver DeLorean, but I'm hoping to find a blue Esprit to match my blue Mondi.
Nice pair, I have an early 81 D. I'm curious how much taller the Delorean is, do you have any pictures of the 2 side by side? Both cars appear to be stock as far as ride height.
Great shots! I wish I had it to show to this guy in Indianapolis a couple of years back (at the 2006 USGP) who confused my silver 328 GTB for a Delorean. I was sitting in the car waiting to roll out of my parking space as this couple walks past. I heard the guy mumble proudly, in his attempt to impress his girlfriend with his car IQ, that my car was a Delorean. My car and this guy's car knowledge became the butt of the inside joke that ran on with the guys for the rest of the weekend! Congratulations on turning 70K! Way to show -- with your right foot -- that they're meant to be driven!
No, but if he gets his flux capacitor leak fixed by Saturday he is going to bring it to the SSC dinner. I'll see if I can get pix then.
And you could confuse the two how?! And you are a heck of nice guy for not embarrassing him in front of his girlfriend. (Must be due to the great taste you show in the color of your 328!)
Funny thing about that DMC. I always thought Ferraris (even 308s) were "hand-built". Not compared to this thing! The owner (who has a BUNCH of cars of all marques) said the DMC looks like it was put together in someones garage. Did you know the windows are held in with metal tabs and screws! Hoses are zip tied to other hoses/parts/pieces, etc. It does have the look of cool kit car when you peer into the inerds...
70,000 miles, thats great. You better keep driving it, as I'm catching up (slowly) almost at 39,000 miles and counting.

Unreal. Maybe because your 328 isn't the signature red and lacks the signature targa top? I had my black 328 parked once, top in place, and some passers-by did a double take and check the emblems to confirm it was a Ferrari. It's like confusing the Corvette and the Coupe DeVille. I agree. The 308/328 have aged much more gracefully than anything from that era.
I think the Delorean is -all- about it being very much of it's era. I love the way it doesn't fit in now. Kind of like driving a 74 Lincoln Continental or a VW Thing.
