1/12 tamiya 288 gto....??

When is the 288 GTO going to be available?

 

That and the price seems to be the question of the hour... Anyone got news? Pre-orders?

 

"Mintmodels" seem to have one:

But do they really already have it and what about the price of $699.95 does anyone expect it to be available for a lower price after a while from other vendors (like ebay japan)?

 

If I had to guess... I'd say they took everything off the Tamiya site and quoted the MSRP off the last Ferrari 1:12 they've got (Tamiya) on their site. To top it all off, I'm almost certain it's a pre-order, and they don't have any in stock. I think the street price will be less $400 or so and won't be out for a while yet. Again, just an educated guess...

 

Mint Models is pretty bad about listing models on their web site as if it is in their inventory. So, you order it, and wait....and wait...then you call them, and they tell you that it is on backorder. I ordered a CMC model over 4 months ago from them, and I am still waiting for it

 

They weren't called Exoticar in their past life by any chance!?

 

Does anybody know where I can buy one of these models today?

This is a huge scale. Any idea of the approximate length of the model?

In a katakana congnate translation, "semi-assemble" would become semiassenburu. They can't make the -mble sound in Japanese. Similarly, McDonalds becomes Makudonarudo.

 

Replicarz.com has/had them.

I have these in stock - CAN$695 = US$560...which is waaaay less than MSRP.

 

Yeah, I was looking up info today, and it was the first time I actually saw MSRP - $848!!! WOW!
