I bought a car from these people once.

    Fairly painless experience.

The 2002 does not appear to have FHP and will ride pretty soft and be pretty quiet. Ypu will need to replace the springs to firm it up, unless you like it that way. I would make certain I drove both cars before buying either.

All else equal I would shoot for a late 2003 production car if possible. There are a number of red and tan cars, so you should be able to get the one you like.

There is essentially no difference between 2002 and 2003 575Ms except possibly the chrome (250 GT) grill and 575M script on the tail. Most differences in specs (exhaust, 50 amp F1 pump relay, shocks/ECU, steering ECU, HGTC) came in the 2004 and 2005 MYs.

2002 575Ms are fine cars and nobody should hesitate to buy one if they find a good one. In this case the specific 2003 575M definitely had more options. The 19" wheels are extremely desirable and cost ~$9-10K to duplicate if used wheels and new tires are fitted, less what you get for the 18" wheels. If I bought a 2002 or 2003, I would upgrade to a 50 amp F1 pump relay or change the 30 amp relay every other year or so.

I'm curious about the rear shelf carpet, which appears to be a much different color than the rest of the interior. I've seen some outlandish color schemes on these cars, but they at least seemed to follow a theme. Are there other examples of this from the factory, or would it be reasonable to assume that the original carpet has been replaced?

They are asking 135K for the '03. Where would you price it?

Interesting. I missed that. Maybe a leather shelf gone bad and replaced?

Henry- Unfortunately the connectors are different, but an easy fix for a competent mechanic. Plus the 50 amp relays are one third the cost of the 30 amp relays. You already have the same 50 amp relay running the air injection pump on your car. Part number is 194909 (RELAY 50 AMP Z.B. SWITCH).

Here is the part and what it fits:

Here is the drawing courtesy of Ricambi. It is number 5 in this parts catalog page of the Rear Passenger Control Station.

Losang- Right now it is a $110-120K car based on current market values. Offer $105K and see where that gets you.

Jeff- Not unusual at all to see different colors in the interior. Here is one I almost bought until I found it had an accident history that could not be reconciled. At least four colors in this interior, plus carbon fiber.
