While my engine is out and partially stripped I am cleaning up including replacing/replating some of the nuts and bolts. Should the nuts and bolts be zinc and yellow passivated or just sinc? Looking carfully at some of the protected parts of the nuts and studs that i have removed, they look yellow passivated, but not all.
    eg.
    The large bell housing nuts
    the differential casing
    the numerous studs and nuts.

Dave- did you ever hear back on this? I am in the middle of doing the same thing to my engine and am most curious. I have a long list of questions for OMG that I will post in a few days re his restoration. He will know that is for sure. Thanks

    Champtc,
I did not receive a reply. However, after carefully looking at the inside of the orginal nuts and bolts with an eye glass, it was clear that they were zinc plated and yellow passivated. I have had all the studs, wahers and nuts replated in the same way. They look great.
