Just find this 348 TS Special from 1994 on ebay. Seller claim 13 out a series of only 15 in 1994 with a serial matching that year (98785)

    I know of a 348 special series of 100 cars in 1993 having seen #98 with a 95991 serial.

Has Ferrari produced another final final 15 cars series, or is it just a misread.

    Thanks

The seller is correct...15 more in 1994

The first 100 were actually 1993's modified by Ferrari North America to the Speciale bloodline. The last 15 were 1994 model year cars produced in Maranello with the SS badging from the US.

Yep, 15 SS cars in 1994. They're more like hard topped Spiders than the earlier SS's. But the package should have most of the goodies we have in the Series 1 SS cars (muffler, chip, gear ratio). The CF seats were not offered for the 1994's and I do not see the SS lip chin spoiler. The wheels are not stock, so they don't have the rears with the extra 25mm offsets. Still I like the TR style wheels on this car.

This is an interesting car at a pretty great price if it checks out mechanically and has a decent history. I'd also add the OEM lip spoiler to make a better visual impression from the front.

I looked at the car in person.

Positives were it had a $10K 30K service done by factory dealer MAG in Dublin, OH back in the fall of '06, new Capistro Stage 2 exhaust muffler & cats ($6K) done in July '08 along with a good amount of regular service along the way with receipts from all reputable shops and part suppliers, front spoiler in pretty good shape.

Negatives were the paint is a little worn, bubbling where drivers side mirror connects to upper door, back window has moisture/condensation spread accross the entire bottom, driverside head rest is a little messed up, the molding behind the drivers side seat is pulling away from mounting on the engine wall, passenger side seat has some sort of gue spot in the center of the seat bottom, passenger lap belt does not work, drivers seat mouse does not move, passenger side lock does not work, minor amount of rust in both door sills, paint chipped from painted targa top, glove box struts non-functioning, front trunk has some of the liner pulling away from the front.

So basically it is a matter, or lack of fit & finish you want to tolerate for the discounted price...

It's looks like a good buy. You are right, I think it looks better than 90% of ebay cars but the overall fit and finish is lacking. Valve covers, A/F housing discoloration, trunk liner vinyl torn, missing rubber inserts for t-top storage, drivers side seat belt cover missing, driver seat is tired, looks like rotting drivers sill plate. Lots of plusses though I'm just a nit pick. Hard to say no at that price. 1 of 15 is hard to beat!! I'd buy it in a heartbeat if I could. Oh and a Capristo :)
