Which do you prefer -- scud coupe or convertible and is it true car will be out of production in next few months
The 16M Spider would probably be the only F430 that would be less than very common by the time the run stops. I'm not in love with the whole design, but if I were buying an F430 I'd probably take the 16M Spider in black metallic. That hides the size somewhat, and you get to hear the engine directly behind you -- can't argue with that soundtrack. But realistically I'd pocket the extra $100K and get a pristine, used F430 that someone put away as an "investment" a year or two back.
I'd buy a regular F430 Spider, gut some of it out, add CF seats, lighter exhaust, and patch it up with some nice suede. Voila! I saved myself $200k OK, I know it's a little bit more different than that, but barely
To me, a convertible Scud (a sun and 'be seen' cruiser-mobile) is about as nonsensical as a turbo charged Porsche Cayanne (an overpowered box).
What I want to see is a Lotus SUV powered maybe with as Toyota 3L V6 that weighs 1400kg and does 0-100kmh in 6.3 seconds.
If you have the weather then i'd say convertible but as England defferently does not then i'd go for the coupe.
I drove both ( the 16 M very short) but the 16 M is my abolutely favorite better sound, looks better and I guess similar perfomance street wise and very, very close on a track
