Ha ha Yes you could say that, just thought I would go out on a limb with this... Ahem you will have a long wait if your marking the post for a revisit ...;)

At the min apart from Mclaren, Ferrari, I have a feeling Toyota and Red Bull will be front runners, but the rest it's a lottery.

Well, he missed the boat on the rear diffusser. Apparently the two teams that got that right were Williams along with Toyota (they are still sharing info due to the engine deal). Expect most of the field to have copied that design by Melbourne.

Good point, I also wonder how Glock will do this year, as that Toyota seems pretty darn fast in testing.

whatever. statements like that show he probably is. I'm not saying he doesn't have the chance to be the next dominate driver or best ever or whatever. He is definately impressive.

The big question that has yet to be answered is who is this car being developed around? Vettel or Webber? Yes Vettel is attracting the press and is a future (current?) star. But last year you had 2 rookies, they picked the better one and developed the car to their tastes. Webber is the encombant. Is RB going to develop around him or the new gifted kid? Not sure how that will go.

I'm really surprised at how quick he's been in the wet. To me the most telling item of information about the Toyota came from Glock when speaking about his first day in the car. He'd said he was very confident in driving it, in how consistent it was. In years past the Toyota had really been hit or miss. Fast on some circuits, slow on others as it apparently was very inconsistent in its behavior. As a driver, to me, there's nothing worse than strapping yourself into a car that you really have no confidence in. When that's the case you really don't want to push it too hard even if you know you have to do so. When you've got one you do have confidence in, that's predictable it's much easier to drive at the limit or push over it if you need to. It changes your whole attitude as a driver. Glock seems really confident with the car in the wet to the point that he'd said he was hoping for some wet weather races. I don't remember any F1 driver hoping for a wet race in a long time.

As we've all said, these testing times don't really matter too much but I think the drivers statements about their cars do. One of the fun things about F1 is trying to read between the lines.

That's an easy one: The car will be built primarily for Vettel. Webber is on his last leg and will soon depart the GP scene (long overdue). Vettel is the rising star and has (contrary to Webber) a win to his name.
And finally: Vettel has already developed the STR to a race winner. I'm sure he'll do it again with the Red Bull. Webber hasn't developed anything other than an injury, which prevented him from some testing over the winter.

Andreas, I know you rate Vettel highly, but don't you think Webber's qualifying skills are pretty good?

F1 is heartless. Swervin could have given him his Alesi. As for Monteiro, it was the last time I was at Indy and I can tell you it was nasty. No remote to turn it off. ;)

The next first time F1 champ ? As always, it depends on who gets the ride. The only challenge to Vettel is Kubica.

    That's very funny actually.

Well that's exactly his problem: Fast for one lap. Webber is the master of brain lapses halfway through a race.

I sat through those myself. Monza and Interlagos come to mind.

I forgot about this while I posted. Because of his injury, I would probably agree that Vettel is doing the development work around himself. I don't really agree that Weber is washed up, but to each their own...

Correct about Webber being fast over one lap, kind of like Trulli. I still think Vettel would have passed Webber in the race in Japan when he hit him in the wet when the safety car was out. I think Vettel that day in Japan was really shining in addition to what he did at Monza in the wet.
